Sporcu Öğrenci Kariyer Farkındalığı Envanteri: Faktör Yapısı ve Demografik Farklılıklar

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, “Sporcu Öğrenci Kariyer Farkındalığı Envanteri”ni (SÖKFE) Türkçeye uyarlayarak psikometrik özelliklerini incelemek ve bazı demografik değişkenlerle kariyer farkındalığı arasındaki ilişkileri ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya, Türkiye’de farklı üniversitelerde öğrenim gören 285 sporcu-öğrenci katılmıştır. Sandstedt vd., (2004) tarafından geliştirilen SÖKFE, 30 madde ve 5 faktörden oluşmaktadır. İstatistiksel analizlerde açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri, Pearson korelasyon analizi yapılmış ve Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Bazı bağımsız değişkenlere göre envanterden elde edilen puanlar arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesinde de Pearson korelasyon analizi ve t testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, Türkçeye uyarlanan envanter 15 madde ve 4 faktörden oluşmuştur. Geçerlik çalışması kapsamında yapılan korelasyon analizi sonuçları T-SÖKFE faktörleri arasında pozitif ve anlamlı ilişkiler olduğunu, güvenirlik katsayısı değerlerinin de envanterin güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu göstermiştir. Diğer değişkenlerle yapılan analizlerde milli sporcu-öğrencilerin kariyer gelişim engel algılarının daha yüksek olduğu, yaş ve sporculuk yaşı büyüdükçe kariyer gelişim öz-yeterliğinin arttığı araştırmada ulaşılan diğer sonuçlardır. Görece kısa bir ölçme aracı olan T-SÖKFE, eğitim yaşantıları boyunca sporcu-öğrencilerin kariyer farkındalıklarının nasıl değiştiğinin belirlenmesi gibi konularda araştırmacılara olanak sağlayacaktır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, Türk üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören sporcu-öğrencilerin kariyer farkındalıklarının değerlendirilmesi için T-SÖKFE’nin uygulanabilirliğine başlangıç desteği sağlamaktadır.

The Student-Athlete Career Situation Inventory: The Factor Structure and Demographic Differences

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to adapt the “Student-Athlete Career Situation Inventory” (SACSI) into Turkish, to examine its psychometric properties and to reveal the relationships between some demographic variables and career situation. The sample consisted of 285 college-age student-athletes from different universities in Turkey. The SACSI (Sandstedt et al., 2004) consists of 30 items with 5 factors. In statistical analyses, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes, Pearson correlation analysis were performed, and Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated. Pearson correlation analysis and t-test were used to determine the relationships between the scores obtained from the inventory according to some independent variables. The findings demonstrated that this inventory yielded 15 items and 4 factors in the Turkish version. The results of the correlation analysis carried out within the scope of the validity study showed that there were positive and significant correlations between the T-SACSI factors, and the reliability coefficient values of the inventory showed that it was a reliable measurement tool. Other results of the study are that the national student-athletes had higher perceptions of career development barriers, and career development self-efficacy increases as age and sports age get older. The T-SACSI is a relatively short measurement tool that allows researchers to determine how the career development situation of athletes-students changed during the educational lives. The results obtained from the research provide initial support for the applicability of T-SACSI for the assessment of career situations of student-athletes studying at Turkish universities.
