Nezaket: Örgütlerde Yönetici - Çalışan İlişkilerini Güçlendirici Bir Davranış

Abstract

Toplumların kendi yaşam alanları içerisinde kargaşaları önlemek ve daha medeni bir yaşam imkânı sunmak için nezaket kavramının önemi çağlar boyunca farklı disiplinler kapsamında tartışılmıştır. Nezaket “civility” ve nazik olma şekli “politeness” kelimelerinin kavramsal olarak kullanım amaçları değişmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında nezaket “civility ve nazik olma şekli “politeness” kavramlarının içerdiği anlam farklılıkları ile benzer kavramlar üzerinde durulmuş ve ortaya çıkış süreçleri özetlenmiştir. Bahsedilen bu anlam çeşitliliğinin toplumların oluşumuna, inançlarına ve yaşam tarzlarına göre farklılıkların barındırdığı keşfedilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu tanımlamalarla birlikte kavramların felsefe, din, sosyal çevre gibi alanlarla ilişkileri ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bahsedilen kelime anlamlarının çeşitli sözlüklere ve dini kitaplara göre de yorumlamalara da yer verilirken çalışmanın içerinde kelimelerin anlamsal farklılıklarını açıklanmasının yanı sıra toplumsal yaşamın haricinde örgütlerde de nezaket kavramı örgütsel davranışın düzenlenmesinde önem içermektedir. Çalışma kapsamında örgütlerde yönetici ve çalışan davranışları açısından nezaketin kullanımı açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu noktada da araştırmanın amacı çalışanların ve yöneticilerin gözünden örgüt ortamında nezaket kavramının rolünün irdelenmesidir. Amaca yönelik olarak nitel yöntem kullanılarak tasarlanan keşfedici doğaya sahip bu çalışma kapsamında yiyecek ve içecek işletmeleri, ulaşım, akademi ve sağlık çalışanlardan yargısal örnekleme tekniği kullanılarak her sektörden seçilen dört kişiden veriler toplanmıştır. Veri toplama tekniği olarak görüşme ve yazılı soru sorma teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, nezaket kavramının hem toplumsal yapıda hem de örgüt yapıları üzerinde sağlıklı iletişim ve sistemsel bir kaliteli yaşam alanı oluşturmada. Yönetici ve çalışan ilişkisinde nezaketin varlığı işe bağlılık, motivasyon açısından güçlendirici bir faktör olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
