Buket Çolak Güvenç, 2017 yılında Erciyes Üniversitesi Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği bölümünden mezun oldu. Yüksek lisansını Şu anda, Kayseri Üniversitesi Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü'nde tamamladı. Kayseri Üniversitesi Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü'nde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalışmakta ve  aynı bölümde doktora yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: adaptif filtre teorisi, adaptif sinyal işleme, devreler ve sistemler.

Sümeyye Ünlüleblebici, lisans eğitimini 2020 yılında Erciyes Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde, yüksek lisans eğitimini ise 2023 yılında aynı üniversitede tamamlamıştır. Doktora çalışmalarına Erciyes Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Anabilim Dalı’nda devam etmektedir. Halen Kayseri Üniversitesi’nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları arasında yapay zeka, derin öğrenme ve medikal görüntü işleme yer almaktadır.

İlyas ÇİÇEK received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He completed his M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Gazi University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kayseri University. He is also working as a research assistant at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kayseri University.

Articles to be submitted for publication in the journal must be prepared using the journal’s own Word template and submitted via Dergipark.

General layout of the template is presented below:

● Page Layout: The prepared article pages must be in A4 (210 x 297 mm) paper size. There should be a margin of 3 cm at the top, 1.5 cm on the left and right sides, and 2 cm at the bottom of the page.
● Author Information: The first letters of the authors’ first and last names must be capitalized, written in bold, 11-point font size. After author names, a 6 line space must be left. Author order should be indicated with superscripts. The same superscript order should be followed for ORCID numbers in the address line and footer. Author addresses must be written in order, one per line, according to author order. Address details should be numbered with superscripts and written in italic, 8-point font. All necessary information about authors must be placed in the designated table, and table borders must be removed. The corresponding author should be marked with a * superscript, and their email address must be given in the footer of the first page. After the email, the author’s name and surname should be written in parentheses.
● Titles: The main title of the article must be provided in both Turkish and English according to the writing language of the article—Turkish articles must include titles in both Turkish and English; English articles must include titles in both English and Turkish. The main titles should be centered and written in 14 or 12-point font according to the article language. After the Turkish and English titles, a 6 line space must be left. Only the first letter of the words in the title should be capitalized, the rest should be in lowercase. The font used in the titles must be Times New Roman. First-level section headings should be bold, left-aligned, and 11-point font. Only the first letter of the headings should be capitalized, with the rest in lowercase. Second-level (e.g., 2.1, 2.2, 3.1), third-level (e.g., 2.1.1, 2.2.2, 3.1.2), and fourth-level (e.g., 2.1.1.1, 2.2.2.1, 3.1.2.3) subheadings should be written in italic, 11-point font, and left-aligned. Subheadings should not exceed four levels. Abbreviations should be avoided in the article title and other headings.
● Font: The main text of the article must use plain, justified, 10-point “Times New Roman” font. Bold or italic fonts may be used for emphasis.
The writing requirements for each section of the article are as follows:
● Abstract: The abstract must briefly include the aim of the study, the methodology followed, the significant findings, and the contributions to the literature, all in no more than 250 words. No references should be cited in the abstract, abbreviations must be defined at their first appearance, and the abstract must be written as a single paragraph. Both Turkish and English abstracts must use 10-point Times New Roman font. Turkish articles must include an English abstract.
● Keywords: Following the Turkish and English abstracts, at least 3 and at most 5 keywords that indicate the main topics of the study must be listed after the phrase “Anahtar Kelimeler (Özet), Keywords (Abstract)” in order from general to specific, separated by commas. The first keyword should start with a capital letter, and the others should be written entirely in lowercase unless they are proper nouns. Keywords must not be written in bold and must use 10-point Times New Roman font.
● Introduction: The purpose, importance, and methodology of the study must be clearly stated. The research problem/hypothesis must be clearly defined. Explanatory information about the subject area of the research problem should be provided. The reason for selecting this research problem and the expected benefits, as well as the aspects addressed in previous studies and the methodology used, must be explained. This section should be supported by literature studies with citations. Subheadings should not be used in the Introduction section, and it can be as long as necessary.
● Methodology: In this section, detailed and clear information about the methods used in the study should be provided, according to the purpose previously stated. Sufficient information must be provided to ensure that the study can be replicated in future research. This section can be divided into subsections.
● Results and Discussion: This section must clearly and explicitly present the findings obtained from the study. The results should be shared with readers using figures and tables. Beyond sharing the results, their significance should also be emphasized, and they should be interpreted with reference to the literature.

● Conclusions: The key findings obtained from the study should be briefly stated, and the impact of the main results should be clearly articulated.

● Acknowledgments: This section is optional. If applicable, information regarding institutions, projects, individuals, etc., that provided support may be included in articles accepted for publication following peer review.

● Conflict of Interest:
Authors must declare that there is no conflict of interest.

● References: In-text citations must be presented in square brackets and listed in sequential order. The reference list should be placed at the end of the article and should follow the order in which the sources appear in the text. If multiple sources are cited in a single instance, a comma (,) should be used to separate individual references, and a dash (-) should indicate a range. For example, [1] refers to source number 1; [1, 2, 5] refers to sources 1, 2, and 5; [1, 2, 4–6] refers to sources 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6; and [3–9] refers to all sources from 3 to 9 inclusive. Authors are expected to prepare their references according to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7 referencing system and include the DOI numbers of the cited works in the bibliography. Additional formatting rules are as follows:
● Equations: All expressions related to mathematics, chemical formulas, and equations or systems of equations must be presented clearly and neatly. Equations must be written in 8-point italic Cambria Math font. Equations should be left-aligned, and equation numbers right-aligned. Each equation should be numbered. Equations should be placed in a 1x2 table. The equation cell may occupy 90% of the width, and the equation number cell 10%. Both the formula and the equation number must be centered within their respective cells. The left and right margins of the table should be set to zero. A single space must be left before and after each equation. Equations should be cited in the main text as in “Equation (1)”.
● Figures: Figures placed in a single column should be centered relative to the column, while those spanning two columns should be centered on the page. Figure captions should be centered below each figure and preceded by a 3 line space. Figures within a single column must be presented inside a 2x1 table. Except for page headers and footers, there should be one space before and after each figure. In-text citations should refer to figures as in “as seen in Figure 1.” Figures must be clearly visible. All texts within the figures must be legible and not exceed the font size of the main text. Editable figures should use 8-point Times New Roman font. Decimal points must be used as separators in numerical values within figures. Proper citation is mandatory for figures or images that are reused or adapted.
● Tables: Various types of tables may be used depending on their purpose. Leave a single space before the table title and a 3 line space afterward. Except at the top and bottom of the page, leave one space before and after the table. Any abbreviations used in the table should be explained below the table in 8-point font, as shown in Table 1. If the table spans both columns, it should be placed at the top or bottom of the page (see Table 2). The text in tables should be written in 8-point Times New Roman font, and may be reduced to 7-point if necessary.
● Page Numbers: Page numbers may be included in the article, but they will be re-formatted during the layout process.
● Other: Suffixes for equations, figures, and tables must follow Turkish vowel harmony rules (e.g., “in Table 1”, “in Equation 2”, etc., must reflect correct suffixation in Turkish grammar). The percentage sign (%) should be written without a space between it and the number. In Turkish texts, the % symbol precedes the number (%51); in English texts, it follows the number (51%). Abbreviations must be written out in full the first time they are used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. Subsequent use should be limited to the abbreviation alone. For lowercase abbreviations, suffixes should be based on pronunciation (e.g., cm’yi, kg’dan, mm’den). For uppercase abbreviations, suffixes should be based on the pronunciation of the final letter (e.g., in TBDY, of TDY, from TRT). Acronyms written in all caps but pronounced like a word should be treated phonetically in their suffixes as well (e.g., to ASELSAN, from DİTAŞ, of ÇİMSAN). Abbreviations must comply with the Turkish Language Association (TDK) abbreviation directory (e.g., vd. – and others, vb. – and the like, dk. – minute, m – meter, g – gram).

For articles submitted to Kayseri University Journal of Engineering and Science, the similarity index must not exceed 20% for original research articles and 30% for review articles. Moreover, similarity from any single source must not exceed 5%.
Authors submitting manuscripts to this journal are required to comply with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Publication Ethics and Misconduct. This declaration is based on the guidelines developed by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Council of Science Editors (CSE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
The principles are as follows:


1. Manuscripts submitted for publication must not have been previously published (including full-text papers presented at scientific meetings), nor be under concurrent review by another journal.

2. Authors agree to subject their submissions to double-blind peer review, whereby the article is reviewed by an editor and at least two referees.

3. All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing unauthorized quotations, fabricated data, manipulated tables or figures, or unethical use of human or animal subjects will not be published.

4. It is considered unethical to add individuals who did not actively contribute to the manuscript as authors, to exclude those who did, to change the order of authors without valid justification, to remove the names of contributors in later editions, or to include the names of individuals using their influence despite lack of contribution.

5. For studies conducted with support, the names of funding individuals, institutions, or organizations, along with the nature of their contributions, must be disclosed.

Responsibilities of the Editor, Assistant Editors, Field Editors, Authors, Reviewers, and Editorial Board

● Editors are responsible for every publication published in the journal. They are responsible for ensuring the development of the journal, improving the quality of publications, and maintaining academic integrity. They make publication decisions based on factors such as the originality of articles, their contribution to the scientific field, and the validity of research methods. They adhere to the principles of blind peer review and transparency, keeping reviewers' identities confidential and ensuring independent evaluations. They also operate processes in accordance with journal policies, adhere to academic ethics, ensure the protection of personal data, and uphold human and animal rights. They take precautions against misconduct.
●Editors should make their decisions by considering the needs of readers, researchers, and practitioners, and ensure that published work is original and contributes to the scientific field. They should also prioritize feedback and provide descriptive and informative feedback.

● Editors make decisions based on the originality, validity, and relevance of studies to the journal's objectives. They ensure that studies suitable for publication are pre-evaluated and take into account reviewers' suggestions. New editors should not overturn the decisions of previous editors. They should implement a "Blind Peer Review and Evaluation Process" and prevent deviations. Editors should provide a detailed "Author Guidelines" for authors, which should be updated regularly. Authors should receive explanatory and informative feedback.

● Editors should select reviewers appropriate to the subject matter of the study and provide the necessary information and guidelines for review. They should respect conflicts of interest, maintain anonymity, and encourage impartial review. They should also evaluate reviewers' performance in a timely manner, establish improvement policies, and dynamically update the reviewer pool to ensure a broad range of reviewers. They should also discourage discourteous and unscientific reviews.

● Editors should ensure that editorial board members are conducted in accordance with editorial policies and guidelines. They should inform and train them. They should select new members with appropriate qualifications and submit them for review to manuscripts relevant to their areas of expertise. They should interact regularly with the editorial board, hold regular meetings, and review policies for the journal's development.

● Editors implement the "Blind Peer Review and Evaluation Process" in accordance with the journal's publication policies, ensuring the fair, impartial, and timely evaluation of each study. They are responsible for the quality assurance of published articles and ensure that they are published in accordance with international standards. They are responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data and rejecting studies without ethics committee approval. Editors are also responsible for protecting human and animal rights. They conduct objective investigations to prevent abuse and misuse. They promptly correct errors or inconsistencies and protect intellectual property rights. They consider constructive criticism, provide explanatory responses to complaints, and ensure independent decision-making. They ensure the impartiality of the process by considering conflicts of interest.

● The double-blind peer-review process ensures the journal's credibility by providing objective and independent evaluation. Reviewers should review only in their areas of expertise and adhere to the principles of impartiality and confidentiality. In the event of a conflict of interest, they must decline to review and inform the editor. The final versions of the reviewed papers are available after publication. Reviewers should base their evaluation solely on the content of the study and avoid personal bias. Review should be constructive and respectful, timely, and conducted in accordance with ethical responsibilities.

● Authors are expected to submit original work to the journal and cite it accurately. Authors must be solely intellectual contributors and disclose any conflicts of interest. Authors must be prepared to submit raw data and provide ethical clearance documents. Any errors or omissions discovered during the publication process must be corrected in collaboration with the editor. Submission of the same work to multiple journals is prohibited. The order of authors during the review process must not be changed. Necessary documents must be submitted for research requiring ethics committee approval. A Copyright Transfer Form must be completed and any conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Authors are obligated to retain the published data for 5 years.

● Kayseri University, a non-profit public educational institution, is the publisher of the journal. The Journal's Board of Directors pledges that editors are accountable for all aspects of the submitted manuscripts and that decisions are made independently of economic or political gain. The journal retains ownership and copyright of published articles and is responsible for maintaining a record of each copy. Furthermore, editors take precautions against problems such as scientific misconduct, citation fraud, and plagiarism.
