Publication Guidelines

Referee Evaluation Process

All manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal are firstly evaluated by the Editor and Editorial Board. After the editorial evaluation, manuscripts meeting the requirements are sent to related referees according to their expertise as soon as possible. Referee evaluation is carried out by double-blind review by two researchers that determined by the relevant editors. The referees send the work back to the related editorial board, making the necessary evaluations for the article. In the case that there is a disagreement between two referees, a third referee opinion can be asked for. Upon completion of the referee process, the editorial board contacts the author for any corrections or the necessary processes. With the completion of the text content, getting the final approval of the editorial board, the manuscript enters in the process of publication.

Plagiarism Policy

All studies accepted for publication in the Mediterranean journal of Gender and Women's Studies is checked for plagiarism by "iThenticate" plagiarism prevention / analysis program during the editorial process and evaluated by taking academic honesty and ethics violations into account. Each article is scanned via iThenticate software before advancing to the referee process. If more than 20% of the original submission is plagiarized, the article is subject to rejection.

Open Access Policy 

Mediterranean Journal of Gender and Women’s Studies has adopted an open access policy based on the principle that offering scientific studies free to the public will increase the global sharing of information. Access to our journal is free. All articles published by the journal are available online immediately after publication, without article processing fees or article submission fees.

In accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), open access means “its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.” You can access the broader BOAI definition via http://www.budapestopenaccessi nitiative.org/read.

Copyright

Manuscripts to be submitted to Mediterranean Journal of GWS should not have been published earlier, scheduled for publication, or at the evaluation process in another journal. The articles in Mediterranean Journal of GWS are open access articles licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License which permits unrestricted, non-commercial use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the work is properly cited. Authors have to sign the Copyright Transfer and the Conflict of Interest Forms and upload them on the system during the submission process.

Authors authorize the journal to share their works with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and the journal under the principles of the Creative Commons Attribution. The content of articles is the opinion of the authors and does not directly or indirectly be the opinion of the Mediterranean Journal of Gender and Women's Studies.
