MEDYATİKLEŞME ÜZERİNE KURAMSAL BİR TARTIŞMA

Year 2018, Volume: 26 Issue: 1, 55 - 65, 01.01.2018

Abstract

A THEORETICAL DISCUSSION ON MEDIATIZATION

Year 2018, Volume: 26 Issue: 1, 55 - 65, 01.01.2018

Abstract

This study examines the concept of "mediatization" and its theoretical foundations. Mediatization refers to the process that everyday practices and social relations are shaped by mediating technologies and media organizations and emerges as an approach that places the media at the centre of all kinds of important cultural, political and social developments. This article aims to discuss the range of approaches to mediatization theory in media and communication studies and to provide a theoretical basis for the Turkish mediatization literature
