We would like to thank you for considering Language and Technology for the publication of your work. The following guidelines are intended to assist authors in preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure that your submission meets the journal’s requirements and can proceed smoothly through the review, production, and publication processes.
Language and Technology is an international, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal that publishes high-quality original research related to language education, technology, psychology, and artificial intelligence. The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, ethical publishing, and peer-review integrity.
Submission and Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial screening to evaluate their suitability for the journal’s scope, academic quality, originality, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then sent for double-blind peer review by at least two anonymous expert reviewers. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
The journal only accepts manuscripts written in English.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are linguistically accurate, clearly written, and academically sound before submission.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). All figures, tables, and illustrations should be embedded within the main text at appropriate locations rather than submitted separately.
A manuscript submitted to the journal should normally not exceed 10,000 words, including references, tables, appendices, and figure captions, unless otherwise approved by the editors.
Authors are encouraged to organize their manuscripts clearly and consistently. Research articles generally include the following sections, where appropriate:
Title
Abstract
Keywords
Introduction
Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
Methodology
Findings / Results
Discussion
Conclusion
References
Appendices (if applicable)
Title Page
A separate title page should be included with the submission. The title page should contain:
Full title of the manuscript
Full names of all authors
Institutional affiliations
Postal addresses
Telephone numbers
E-mail addresses
ORCID identifiers for all authors
Corresponding author information
To ensure the integrity of the double-blind review process, author names and identifying information should not appear anywhere in the main manuscript file.
Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript should include an abstract of no more than 250 words. The abstract should clearly summarize the problem statement, purpose, methodology, findings, and implications of the study.
Authors should also provide three to five keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
Referencing Style
The journal follows the guidelines of the latest edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) referencing style. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all references and citations.
Tables, Figures, and Equations
All tables, figures, and visual materials should be clear, high-quality, and appropriately labeled. Figures and tables should appear within the main manuscript at relevant points in the text.
Equations should be editable and prepared using equation editing tools rather than inserted as images.
Authors should also provide editable source files for all submitted materials whenever possible.
Ethical Considerations and Originality
Submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
The journal reserves the right to conduct originality and plagiarism checks during the review and production processes. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to these screening procedures.
Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission for any copyrighted material included in their manuscripts before submission. Appropriate acknowledgments and permissions must be provided where necessary.
Funding Information and Author Notes
Authors should provide complete information regarding funding sources, grant-awarding bodies, and acknowledgments where applicable.
A short biographical note for each author should also be included at the time of submission.
Submission Procedure
Authors must create an account in the journal’s submission system before submitting a manuscript. All submissions should be completed through the online submission platform in accordance with the journal’s policies and procedures.
