The article submitted to LOKUM must not have been previously published in any journal or simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere. If such a situation is detected, the article will be rejected. All articles submitted to LOKUM are subject to two-stage review: preliminary review and reviewer evaluation. The article in the field of art submitted to LOKUM is preliminary review by the editor. As a result of the preliminary evaluation carried out by the editor, the article that does not comply with the purpose and scope of the journal, does not meet the publication policies, is weak in terms of language and expression rules, contains scientifically critical errors, has no original value and does not pass the ethical control is returned to the author(s). The article that passes the preliminary evaluation is reviewed by the editor for the purpose of determining the plagiarism percentage. As a result of the review, the article with a similarity rate of 24% or more is reported to the author(s) and asked to limit it. For articles complied from graduate theses (provided that it is stated in the text), this rate is determined according to the examination to be made in the content of the similarity report. The article, which is approved as a result of preliminary evaluation and plagiarism, is sent by the editor to two reviewers who are experts in the field by peer-review method.
At all stages of the review process, the names of the authors and reviewer are kept confidential. The reviewer has to declare that she/he accepts the arbitration within 5 (five) days. The reviewers who accept the evaluation are deemed to have given a guarantee that they will not share any process and document about the articles they evaluated. Peer-reviews are generally made within the scope of the originality, method, findings and results of the article. The review process is maximum 2 (two) months.
Reviewers can decide on the suitability of an article or request corrections if they deem it necessary. The author(s) must take into account the evaluations of the editorial board and reports of the reviewers. If the reviewers evaluation reports are positive, the article is sent to the editorial board by the editor. With the approval of the editorial board, the article is placed in the publication queue. In case of a negative report by one reviewer, the article is either sent to the third reviewer or the editor's decision is applied. In case of being sent to the third reviewer, the publication status of the article is determined as positive or negative according to the evaluation report of the reviewer. The author(s) are constantly informed about the process.
