Year 2022, Issue: 35, 179 - 192, 29.05.2022
https://doi.org/10.20875/makusobed.1080674

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine to what extent psychological flexibility and problem solving skills variables predict social media addiction levels of adults. The research group of the study consists of 366 adults, 177 (48.4%) male and 189 (51.6%) female, living in the Mediterranean Region in 2022. The average age of the research group is 44.08. “Social Media Addiction Scale - Adult Form”, “Psychological Resilience Scale”, “Scale for Adults' Problem Solving Skills” and “Personal Information Form” have been used as data collection tools. In the study, the data have been analyzed with the multiple linear regression analysis (stepwise) method. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the variables of “psychological flexibility” in the first place and “problem-solving skills” in the second place have significantly predicted social media addiction in adults.
