The Relationship Between Learned Resourcefulness and Locus of Control of High School Students

Abstract

In this research, it is to determine the relationship between learned resourcefulness and
locus of control of high school students.
The population comprises the students of 10 th and 11 th classes of private and state
schools educating in the Anatolian side of İstanbul in the academic year of 2006-2007. 337
students from these schools were determined by randomly. 161 of them are females, 176
of them are males.

The questionnaire which is developed by the researcher to collect information about
sociodemographic features of the students, ‘Rotter’s İnternal-External Locus of Control
Scale’, Rosenbaum’s Learned Resourcefullness’ are used as the type of this survey study.
The results of this study show that there is significant correlation between learned
resourcefullness of the high school students and their locus of control. Also, the learned
resourcefullness scores of the female students are higher than the male students’; the learned
resourcefullness scores of the students of the public schools are higher than significantly
private school’.

LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE ÖĞRENİLMİŞ GÜÇLÜLÜK VE KONTROL ODAĞI ALGILAMA DÜZEYİ İLİŞKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırma ile, lise öğrencilerinin öğrenilmiş güçlülük ve kontrol odağı algılama durumları arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2006-2007 öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Anadolu yakasında, resmi ve özel lise 10 ve 11. sınıflarında okumakta olan 161’ i kız, 176’ sı ise erkek olmak üzere, tesadüfi yöntemle seçilmiş toplam 337 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modelindeki araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özellikleri hakkında bilgi toplamak için araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş ‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’ nun yanında ‘Rosenbaum’un Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük Ölçeği’ ile ‘Rotter’ in İç-Dış Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği’ kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin öğrenilmiş güçlülük düzeyleriyle, kontrol odakları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin var olduğu görülürken, kız öğrencilerin öğrenilmiş güçlülük düzeylerinin erkek öğrencilerinkinden ve devlet okulunda okuyan öğrencilerin öğrenilmiş güçlülük düzeylerinin, özel okulda okuyan öğrencilerininkinden anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.
