Author Guidelines

  1. Each manuscript must include a title in its original language, Turkish, and English. The title must reflect the content concisely, clearly, and adequately. It must be written in bold uppercase letters and contain fewer than 20 words.
  2. Author names must be right-aligned below the manuscript title, with surnames written entirely in uppercase letters. Each author’s academic title, institutional affiliation, and email address must be provided in a footnote.
  3. The Turkish abstract must reflect the purpose and scope of the study and contain 150–250 words. Five Turkish keywords must be provided one line below the abstract.
  4. English versions of the title, abstract, and keywords must also be included.
  5. Articles written in English must also include a Turkish title, abstract, and keywords.
  6. Manuscripts must follow the grammatical conventions of the language in which they are written. The language must be clear and straightforward, and information unrelated to the purpose and scope of the study must be omitted.
  7. Conclusions must be consistent with the purpose and scope of the research and presented concisely. Data or findings not previously addressed in the manuscript must not be introduced in the conclusion.

FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

  1. Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word using A4 paper size (210 × 297 mm).
  2. The total manuscript length, including tables, figures, and other accompanying content, must not exceed 12,000 words.
  3. All page margins—left, right, top, and bottom—must be set to 2.5 cm.
  4. The main text must be written in 11-point Times New Roman with 1.15 line spacing.
  5. Both the Turkish and English abstracts must use a 10-point font. The Turkish and English titles must use a 12-point font.
  6. Authors’ academic titles and full names must use an 11-point font. Author information provided in footnotes must use a 10-point font.
  7. Paragraphs must not have first-line indentation. Paragraphs must be separated by 6 points of spacing.
  8. Main headings must be written entirely in uppercase letters. Subheadings must use title case. Both must be bold and use an 11-point font.

QUOTATIONS, FOOTNOTES, CITATIONS, AND REFERENCES

  1. Direct quotations must be enclosed in quotation marks. Quotations shorter than five lines must be incorporated into the main text. Quotations longer than five lines must be presented as block quotations, indented 1.5 cm from both the left and right margins, using a 10-point font and single line spacing.
  2. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and used only for explanatory comments, not for bibliographic references. Footnotes must be numbered automatically.
  3. Citations and direct quotations must be identified in the text as illustrated below. Full bibliographic details must be provided in the reference list.

Citation of a work with multiple authors:
(Tuğ and Aladağ, 2016: 23)

Citations of multiple works published by the same author in the same year:
(Tellioğlu, 2015a), (Tellioğlu, 2015b)

Authors must obtain a similarity report for manuscripts submitted to Akademik MATBUAT using iThenticate, Turnitin, or intihal.net. Manuscripts submitted without a similarity report or with an overall similarity score exceeding 20% will not be considered for evaluation.
