Journal of Vocational Sciences was established in 2018 under the title Mesleki ve Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi within Trakya University Uzunköprü Vocational School. In line with its institutionalisation and sustainability objectives, the journal was subsequently placed under the Vocational Schools Coordinatorship on behalf of the Rectorate of Trakya University. Following a decision adopted by the Trakya University Journals Board in 2025, the journal’s title was changed, and Journal of Vocational Sciences has been used as its official English title since the June 2026 issue.

The journal is an international, peer-reviewed and open-access academic publication that aims to publish original and high-quality studies at the intersection of applied sciences and vocational fields. It considers research articles, review articles and conceptual studies in vocational education, management, organisation, public administration, local government, health management, social policy, marketing, higher education and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal publishes articles in Turkish and English twice a year, in June and December. No submission, evaluation, processing or publication fees are charged to authors. No royalties are paid for published articles.

The journal’s editorial assessment, peer-review and publication processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of scientific impartiality, transparency and academic ethics. Submitted manuscripts undergo editorial screening before being evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process. Similarity checks are conducted using iThenticate. The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics and applies its current author guidelines and referencing rules in all editorial and publication processes.
