About
Journal of Vocational Sciences was established in 2018 under the title Mesleki ve Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi within Trakya University Uzunköprü Vocational School. In line with its institutionalisation and sustainability objectives, the journal was subsequently placed under the Vocational Schools Coordinatorship on behalf of the Rectorate of Trakya University. Following a decision adopted by the Trakya University Journals Board in 2025, the journal’s title was changed, and Journal of Vocational Sciences has been used as its official English title since the June 2026 issue.
The journal is an international, peer-reviewed and open-access academic publication that aims to publish original and high-quality studies at the intersection of applied sciences and vocational fields. It considers research articles, review articles and conceptual studies in vocational education, management, organisation, public administration, local government, health management, social policy, marketing, higher education and related interdisciplinary fields.
The journal publishes articles in Turkish and English twice a year, in June and December. No submission, evaluation, processing or publication fees are charged to authors. No royalties are paid for published articles.
The journal’s editorial assessment, peer-review and publication processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of scientific impartiality, transparency and academic ethics. Submitted manuscripts undergo editorial screening before being evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process. Similarity checks are conducted using iThenticate. The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics and applies its current author guidelines and referencing rules in all editorial and publication processes.

Dear Scholars and Researchers,
The Journal of Vocational Sciences, published under the auspices of Trakya University, is pleased to announce that the submission process for its December 2026 issue is now open. The journal aims to contribute to academic knowledge production in the fields of vocational education, applied sciences, management, organisation studies, healthcare management, digital transformation, public administration, local governments, marketing, social policy, higher education studies, the world of work, vocational schools, and interdisciplinary research.
The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual studies that demonstrate strong scientific quality, theoretical depth, methodological consistency, and a clear contribution to the relevant literature. Studies addressing current issues in vocational sciences, connecting academic knowledge with practical fields, and developing local, national, or international comparative perspectives are particularly encouraged within the journal’s publication policy.
In accordance with the decision taken by the publishing institution, the journal’s editorial and publication processes have begun to be carried out through its new DergiPark page. Within this framework, the current Turkish title of the journal is Mesleki Bilimler Dergisi, and its English title is Journal of Vocational Sciences. Until the archiving process is fully completed, both the institutional web page of the journal and the previous DergiPark page will remain accessible. The content previously published under the title The Journal of Vocational and Social Sciences will be transferred from the former DergiPark page to the archive of the Journal of Vocational Sciences. Until this transfer is completed, the former page will remain open in order to preserve academic access and citation continuity.
Manuscripts submitted for the December 2026 issue should be prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines and submitted through the DergiPark system. All submissions will undergo editorial preliminary review and peer-review evaluation. Authors who wish to contribute to the journal are kindly invited to follow the current announcements and submission requirements through the journal’s new DergiPark page.
We cordially invite all scholars and researchers to submit their manuscripts to the December 2026 issue of the Journal of Vocational Sciences.
