Matematik Kaygısı ile Olumlu ve Olumsuz Mükemmeliyetçiliğin Matematik Başarısını Yordama Gücü

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı matematik kaygısı ile olumlu ve olumsuz mükemmeliyetçiliğin ilköğretim 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik başarısını yordama gücünü incelemektir. Araştırmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2011-2012 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı Güz Dönemi’nde Malatya ile Battalgazi ilçesindeki dört ilköğretim okulunun 8. sınıfında öğrenim gören 102’si kız ve 99’u erkek olmak üzere toplam 201 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin matematik kaygılarının belirlenmesinde Bindak (2005) tarafından geliştirilen “İlköğretim Öğrencileri İçin Matematik Kaygısı Ölçeği”, mükemmeliyetçilik özelliklerinin belirlemesinde ise Kırdök (2004) tarafından geliştirilen “Olumlu ve Olumsuz Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin 6. ve 7. sınıf matematik karne notlarının ortalaması matematik başarı puanı olarak alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri SPSS 17.0 paket programı kullanılarak Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyonu ve adımsal regresyon ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, matematik kaygısı ile olumlu ve olumsuz mükemmeliyetçiliğin matematik başarısına ilişkin toplam varyansın %24’ünü açıkladığını ve en güçlü yordayıcı değişkenin matematik kaygısı olduğunu göstermiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçların matematik başarısını arttırmaya yönelik çalışmalara ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir
