Ortaokul ve Lise Öğrencilerinin Matematiksel Kavram Yanılgılarına Yönelik Türkiye’de Yapılan Çalışmaların Sistematik Derlemesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de 2014-2020 yılları arasında 5-12. sınıf düzeyindeki matematiksel kavram yanılgılarına yönelik yürütülen çalışmaların sistematik olarak derlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda incelenen çalışmaların konu alanı ve yöntemsel eğilimleri belirlenmiştir. İlgili alan yazın ERIC, Web of Science, Science Direct, Dergipark ve Ulusal Tez Merkezi olmak üzere beş farklı veri tabanı üzerinden taranmıştır. Alan yazın taraması araştırmacılar tarafından belirlenen veri arama protokolüne göre yapılmış ve veriler Yayın Sınıflama Formu aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Sistematik derleme için dahil etme kriterlerine göre seçilen 46 çalışma bu araştırmanın verilerini oluşturmaktadır. Matematiksel kavram yanılgısı çalışmalarının konu alanı eğilimleri incelendiğinde çalışmaların lise kademesine kıyasla ortaokul kademesinde yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca lise kademesinde en fazla çalışmanın sayılar ve cebir öğrenme alanında yapıldığı görülmüştür. Benzer şekilde ortaokul kademesinde çalışmaların sayılar ve işlemler ile cebir öğrenme alanlarında yoğunluk gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmaların yöntemsel eğilimleri incelendiğinde ise nitel yöntemlerin nicel yöntemlere kıyasla daha fazla kullanıldığı görülmüştür. İncelenen çalışmaların veri toplama araçlarında ise ağırlıklı olarak açık uçlu sorular içeren başarı testlerinin kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir.

The Systematic Review of the Studies Conducted in Turkey on the Mathematical Misconceptions of Middle and High School Students

Abstract

The aim of this study is to make a systematic review of the studies conducted between 2014- 2020 in Turkey on the mathematical misconceptions of 5th-12th grade students. In accordance with this aim, the subject areas and methodological approaches of the studies were determined. The relevant literature was reviewed using five databases, which are ERIC, Web of Science, Science Direct, Dergipark, and the Council of Higher Education Thesis Center. The review was conducted based on the data search protocol determined by the researchers, and the data were collected using the Publications Classification Form. A total of 46 selected studies were systematically reviewed. When the subject areas of the studies were examined, it was seen that the studies mostly focused on middle school rather than high school. In addition, the majority of the studies on high school focused on the learning areas of numbers and algebra. Similarly, the studies on middle school mostly concentrated on the learning areas of numbers and operations and algebra. When the methodological approaches of the studies were examined, it was seen that qualitative methods were used more than quantitative methods. As for the data collection tools of the reviewed studies, it was revealed that achievement tests including open-ended questions were mainly used.
