Abstract

The Adaptation of the Romantic Beliefs Scale: Validity and Reliability Studies. The purpose of this study is to adapt the Romantic Beliefs Scale which was originally developed by Sprecher and Metts to Turkish and investigate the validity and reliability of the scale. The data was collected from 957 (559 girls, 398 boys) university students enrolled in 4 faculties (Arts & Sciences, Education, Engineering, and Economics & Administrative Sciences) at Mersin University. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was used to evaluate the construct validity of the scale. Results of the study indicated that the scale composed of 4 factors namely, “Love Finds a Way”, “One and Only”, “Idealization”, and “Love at First Sight”. The results also showed that internal consistency coefficients of the factors as estimated by Cronbach Alpha were satisfactory.

Romantik İnançlar Ölçeği’nin Uyarlanması: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışmaları

Year 2013, Volume: 9 Issue: 2, 461 - 469, 28.10.2013
