Aim: Attitudes that are tried to be gained to physician candidates during the medical education process are important in increasing the quality of both the medical education given and the health service that the physician candidates will provide throughout their professional life. In the study, it was aimed to reveal what affects the attitudes and attitudes of physician candidates towards medical education in the pre- and post-pandemic period. Method: A total of 368 physician candidates, 50.5% male and 49.5% female, were included in the study. The Attitude Scale towards Medical Education and a questionnaire consisting of questions that may affect their attitudes were applied. Variables affecting attitudes were determined with univariate and multivariate analysis methods. Results: Being female, having a high grade point average and high attendance rate caused an increase in attitude scores towards medical education, while increasing age, choosing the Faculty of Medicine due to family desire and other reasons and the presence of a physician in the family caused a decrease in attitude scores. Conclusion: It was seen that the attitudes of the physician candidates were related to their voluntarily choosing the department they studied and their gender. In addition, it was determined that the academic success and the duration of the lectures of the physician candidates who had a positive attitude towards medical education increased.
Amaç: Hekim adaylarına tıp eğitimi sürecinde kazandırılmaya çalışılan tutumlar hem verilen tıp eğitiminin hem de hekim adaylarının meslek yaşamları boyunca verecekleri sağlık hizmetinin kalitesinin artırılmasında önemlidir. Çalışmada pandemi öncesi ve sonrası dönemde hekim adaylarının tıp eğitimine yönelik tutumlarını ve tutumları ile ilişkili değişkenleri ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: %50.5 erkek, %49.5’i kadın olmak üzere toplam 368 hekim adayı çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Tıp Eğitimine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve tutumları ile ilgili sorulardan oluşan anket formu uygulanmıştır. Tek değişkenli ve çok değişkenli analiz yöntemleri ile tutumları ile ilişkili değişkenler tespit edilmiştir. Bulgular: Kadın olmak, genel not ortalamasının ve derslere devam oranının yüksek olması tıp eğitimine yönelik tutum puanlarının artmasına neden olurken, yaşın artması, aile isteği ve diğer sebeplerle Tıp Fakültesi’ni tercih etmiş olmak ve ailede hekim varlığı tutum puanlarının azalmasına neden olmaktadır. Sonuç: Hekim adaylarının tutumlarının okudukları bölümü gönüllü olarak seçmeleri ve cinsiyetleri ile ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca tıp eğitimine olumlu tutumu olan hekim adaylarının, akademik başarılarının ve derslere devam sürelerinin arttığı saptanmıştır.

MEU Journal of Health Sciences Assoc was began to the publishing process in 2008 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Gönül Aslan, Editor-in-Chief, and affiliated to Mersin University Institute of Health Sciences. In March 2015, Prof. Dr. Caferi Tayyar Şaşmaz undertook the Editor-in Chief position and since then he has been in charge.
Publishing in three issues per year (April - August - December), it is a multisectoral refereed scientific journal. In addition to research articles, scientific articles such as reviews, case reports and letters to the editor are published in the journal. Our journal, which has been published via e-mail since its inception, has been published both online and in print. Following the Participation Agreement signed with TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Dergi Park in April 2015, it has started to accept and evaluate online publications.
