OPUS Journal of Society Research
Special Issue “Crisis Entangled – Reimagining the Social in Turbulent Times”
The OPUS Journal of Society Research (JSR) invites original contributions for a special issue exploring the complex, multi-layered nature of global crises and their social, cultural, and psychological reverberations. In an era marked by war, forced displacement, digital authoritarianism, ecological breakdown, democratic backsliding, and widening inequalities, this special issue seeks to reimagine how the social sciences can understand, engage with, and contribute to transforming our shared futures.
Scope and Aim
In line with the mission of OPUS Journal of Society Research, this special issue builds on our commitment to integrating theory, practice, and research to better understand human behavior in its social environment. Our interdisciplinary perspective provides the groundwork for presenting and establishing a holistic relationship between disciplines, concepts, and methods—allowing for different interpretations and alternative viewpoints. We are particularly interested in work that reframe how crises are interpreted and responded to across diverse contexts.
