| Description | The Migration Research Foundation (GAV) was established in 2010 with the aim of generating data in the fields of migration, diaspora, and Muslim minorities, contributing to the literature, training qualified human resources for the field, drawing attention to existing problems, and offering policy recommendations. GAV has three active research centers: the Turkish Diaspora Research Center (TÜDAM), the Turkish Migration Research Center (TÜGAM), and the Muslim Minorities Research Center (MAM). These centers conduct in-depth research on the linguistic and cultural heritage, social, cultural, and political issues of the Turkish community living abroad, as well as the phenomenon of migration in Türkiye and the current situation and problems of Muslim minorities. The Foundation publishes original and translated works through GAV Perspective Publications and provides a platform for the publication of scientific research by academics working in the field through its academic journal, the Turkish Journal of Diaspora Studies (TJDS). GAV Academy, operating within the Foundation, organizes training programs to contribute to the development of young researchers and experts in line with the Foundation's objectives. These programs include the Basic Education Program (BEP), Migration and Diaspora Specialization Programs, and Summer and Winter Schools. These comprehensive training programs support young people who wish to specialize in the fields of migration, diaspora, and Muslim minorities by providing them with a comprehensive education and enabling them to become experts in the field. Furthermore, the foundation encourages the production and sharing of knowledge in this area by offering various support mechanisms such as the Migration Studies Scholarship Program, the Turkish Diaspora Studies Scholarship Program, and the Muslim Minority Studies Scholarship Program, to support research and researchers in its areas of study. |
