Abstract

Bu çalışmada; kostüm tasarımı açısından çizgi romanlardan uyarlanan filmlerdeki karakterlerin
yansıtılma biçimleri ve giysilerinde gözlenen değişimlerinin irdelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada yöntem
olarak; nitel yöntem tercih edilmiş ve betimsel incelemeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Amaç doğrultusunda,
popüler çizgi roman filmleri olan Marvel’s Avengers ve Avengers: Age of Ultron filmlerinde başrollerde yer
alan Black Widow ve Captain America karakterleri seçilmiştir. Karakterlerin belirlenen film çıkış tarihleri
sürecinde çizgi romanlarda kullandıkları kostüm tasarımları incelenmiş ve film kostüm özellikleri ile
karşılaştırılmıştır. Verilerin incelenmesi; araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan kostüm tasarım analiz formu
ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Formun künye olarak adlandırılan ilk bölümünde; karakterlerin adı, kostümlerin
yayın formatlara göre yayın bilgileri ve kostüm görselleri bulunmaktadır. İkinci bölüm olan kostümlerin
analizi bölümünde; giysilerin teknik ve simgesel özellikleri incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın; kostüm tasarımcıları
için farkı mecralardan uyarlanan karakterlerin yansıtılma biçimlerini incelemesi ve esinlenen kaynaklar
doğrultusunda tasarımcıların yaratıcılıklarını kullanmasına yardımcı olarak konuya dikkat çekmesi açısından
önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.

COMPARSION OF COMIC BOOK SUPERHEROES AND MOVIE CHARACTER COSTUMES IN TERM OF DESIGN FEATURES

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to examine the ways of projection of characters in films adapted from
comics and their changes observed in their clothing in terms of costume design, As a method in the study;
qualitative method was preferred and descriptive studies were carried out. For this purpose, the characters
Black Widow and Captain America who played leading roles in the popular comic book movies such as
Marvel’s Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron were selected. The costume designs used by the characters
in the comics during the determined movie release dates were examined and compared with the movie
costume features. Data analysis was carried out with the costume analysis form prepared by the researchers.
In the first part of the form titled as info; the names of the characters, information according to the publication
formats and the costume visuals were presented. In the second part titled as the costume analysis section;
the technical and symbolic features of the costumes were examined. It is thought that the study is important
for costume designers to examine the ways of reflecting characters adapted from different media, helping
designers use their creativity in line with inspired sources while draw attention to the subject.
