The primary objective of the journal is to share the results of experimental research regarding sports sciences and human movement with readers; to identify issues and propose solutions through descriptive and other research methods; and to disseminate review articles that provide in-depth analyses of recent developments in the field. In line with this objective, the aim is to share the scientific data and insights discovered by researchers with the audience and to contribute to human well-being—specifically regarding healthy development, the education necessary for a high quality of life, and happiness.
Hacettepe Journal of Sports Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal that has been in publication since 1990 and is issued four times a year. Since 2019, the journal has been published exclusively in electronic format. While the primary language of the journal is Turkish, articles in English are also included. The journal publishes original research and review articles covering all areas of sports sciences and human movement in the country. Each issue of the journal features a maximum of one review article, resulting in a total of four review articles per year. Review articles are accepted via invitation from academics who have previously published research articles in the relevant field and are subsequently included in the peer-review and publication process. Future issues of the journal will also feature content such as letters to the editor, case reports, and book reviews. Hacettepe Journal of Sports Sciences (HJSS) has been indexed in TRDizin since 2003.
