SOSYAL SERMAYE VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ: AB ÜLKELERİ VE TÜRKİYE ÜZERİNE AMPİRİK BİR İNCELEME

Abstract

Sosyal sermaye, toplumu oluşturan fertler, sivil toplum örgütleri ve kamu kurumları arasındaki koordinasyon faaliyetlerini kolaylaştıran, güven, norm ve iletişim ağı şeklinde tanımlanabilir. Son zamanlarda bu kavram hem sosyolojik hem de ekonomik teoride sıkça araştırılan konular arasında yer almaktadır. Özellikle ekonomik açıdan kavram, ekonomik büyüme, gelişme ve verimlilik konuları ile birlikte ele alınmaktadır. Günümüz iktisat literatüründe sosyal sermaye olgusu, büyüme modellerinde önemli bir işleve sahiptir. Sosyal sermayenin gelişmiş olması, iktisadi faaliyetlerde işlem maliyetlerini azaltarak makro ekonomik performansı olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal sermayenin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisini 27 AB ülkesi ve Türkiye için 2008 verilerini kullanarak yatay-kesit analiz yöntemi ile test etmektir. Çalışmanın ampirik sonuçlarına göre sosyal sermayenin, ekonomik büyüme üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü bir etkiye sahip olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır
