First Reading and Writing Teaching in Turkish Teaching Programs Between 1924-1981
Abstract
Educational activities are transformed from time to time in the light of technological and scientific developments in line with the aim of the countries and the needs of societies. These transformations also affect educational programs. For effective and systematic education activities, it is necessary to prepare the curriculum in a qualified way. The first condition of being successful in teaching-learning processes is to have an effective literacy skills. The first reading and writing teaching is important in this respect. In this research, the first literacy processes, which constitute the basis for educational activities, were examined in Turkish programs. In this context, the first literacy processes included in the 1924, 1926, 1930, 1936, 1948, 1968 and 1981 Turkish curriculum were analyzed. In the literature, there are sufficient studies on Turkish curriculum in 2005, 2015 and 2018. Since these programs were easily accessible, the programs of 2005, 2015 and 2018 were excluded. The research was carried out with the method of document analysis from the qualitative methods and the data were collected and analyzed in this way.
