Aile Yılında Bekârlığın Görünümünü Anlamak

Abstract

Bu çalışma aile yılında bekârlığın anlamı ve görünümüne odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, bekârlığın temel nedenlerini açığa çıkarmaktır. Ailenin önemini vurgulamak amacıyla 2025 yılının “Aile Yılı” ilan edilmesiyle aile kurumunun gözden kaçırılan aktörü olarak bekârların görünümünün nasıl olduğu araştırmanın çıkış noktasıdır. Günümüzde evlenme yaşının ilerlemesi bekârların bakış açılarına ihtiyaç duyulduğunu göstermektedir. Araştırma bekârların yaşam dünyası keşfedilmeye çalışıldığı için nitel araştırma yöntemine göre dizayn edilmiştir. Fenomenolojik desenin benimsendiği bu araştırmada amaçlı örneklem ve kartopu örnekleme seçiminde bulunulmuştur. 9 kadın 9 erkek olmak üzere toplamda 18 katılımcıyla yarı yapılandırılmış soru formu aracılığıyla derinlemesine görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veri seti MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2024 programıyla içerik analizine tabii tutulmuş ve dört temaya ulaşılmıştır. Bunlar; bekârlığın keşfedilmesi, bekârlığın görünümü, bekârlara yönelik tutum ve bakış açısı, ailenin geleceğine dair tespit ve öneriler şeklindedir. Söz konusu dört tema, bekârlığı deneyimleyen kişilerin bekârlığa atfettikleri anlamı, bekârlığın nasıl göründüğünü ve toplumdaki algılanma biçimini ortaya koymaktadır. Sonuç olarak bekârlık fenomeni aile değerlerinin değişim süreciyle açıklanabilir. Bekârlığın görünümünde kültürel ve dini değerlerin belirleyiciliğinin azaldığı, sosyoekonomik faktörlerin etkilerinin ve bireyselleşmenin arttığı saptanmıştır.

Understanding the Appearance of Singleness in the Family Year

Abstract

his study focuses on the meaning and outlook of singleness in the family year. The study aims to reveal the root causes of singleness. With 2025 declared the "Year of the Family" to emphasize its importance, the starting point of the research is how singles are viewed as the overlooked actors of the family institution. The increasing age of marriage today demonstrates the need to find out the perspectives of single people. The research was designed according to the qualitative research method as it attempted to explore the lifeworld of singles. In this study, a phenomenological design was adopted, and purposive sampling and snowball sampling were selected. In-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 18 participants, 9 female and 9 male, using a semi-structured questionnaire. The data set obtained from the interviews was subjected to content analysis with the Maxqda Analytics Pro 2024 program and four themes were reached. These are: discovery of singleness, outlook of singleness, attitude and perspective towards singles, determinations and suggestions about the future of the family. These four themes reveal the meaning that people who experience singleness attribute to singleness, how singleness appears and how it is perceived in society. Consequently, the phenomenon of singlehood can be attributed to a shift in family values. It has been observed that the influence of cultural and religious values on the perception of singlehood has diminished, while the impact of socio-economic factors and individualisation has increased.
