A Research on Salt Tolerance of Some Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Cultivars

Abstract

This study was carried out to determinate the salt tolerance of six commer-cial pomegranate cultivars (İzmir 10, İzmir 23, İzmir 26, İzmir 1513, Hicaz-nar (07 N 08) and Silifke Aşısı (33 N 16)). Salt tolerance of varieties were determined at pots. Some morphological characteristics of varieties (plant height, shoot, root and stem length, shoots, roots, stems, fresh and dry weight) were investigated in the different salt (NaCl) concentrations (0, 750, 1500, 3000 and 6000 ppm). It was observed that, there was no significant difference between varieties according to the parameters investigated, while Izmir 1513 variety showed high tolerance; Izmir 10 variety showed lowest tolerance. In general, better the development was observed in 3000 ppm of NaCl to a dose of 6000 ppm dose of NaCl. It has been found that the fall of the value on 6000 ppm NaCl concentrations.

Bazı Nar (Punica granatum L.) Çeşitlerinin Tuza Toleransları Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışma ticari öneme sahip 6 nar çeşidinin (İzmir 10, İzmir 23, İzmir 26, İzmir 1513, Hicaznar (07 N 08) ve Silifke Aşısı (33 N 16)) tuza tolerans durumlarını tespit etmek için yürütülmüştür. Çeşitlerin tuza tolerans durumları bir yaşlı fidanların yetiştirildiği saksı denemesinde ile belirlenmiştir. Farklı tuz (NaCl) konsantrasyonlarının (0, 750, 1500, 3000 ve 6000 ppm) nar çeşitlerinin fidan dönemindeki bazı morfolojik özelliklerine (bitki boyu, sürgün, kök ve gövde uzunluğu, sürgün, kök, gövde yaş ve kuru ağırlıkları) etkileri incelenmiştir. İncelenen parametrelere göre çeşitler arasında önemli farkların olmadığı, İzmir 1513 çeşidi en yüksek toleransı gösterirken, İzmir 10 çeşidinin en düşük tolerans gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Genel olarak çeşitlerin 3000 ppm NaCl dozuna kadar iyi gelişme gösterdiği, 6000 ppm NaCl dozunda ise morfolojik parametrelere ait değerlerin düştüğü tespit edilmiştir.
