Identification of Pathogens of Fungal Diseases Caused Root and Crown Rot on Wheat Fields in Trakya Region

Abstract

A survey study according to the systematic sampling methods was carried out to determine the level of root and crown rot fungal diseases in the wheat fields of Edirne, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli provinces in Trakya Region in years of 2006 and 2007 and identified of fungal pathogens. In this survey study carried out in the period of grain milk stage in second half of the June in 53 wheat fields in 2006 and 56 wheat fields in 2007. At the end of the study, the disease simptoms were observed in all fields (100 %), and any fields completely free from the disease were not seen. Infected plant ratio was determined to be 85 % in Edirne province, 73 % in Tekirdağ province, and 75 % in Kırklareli province according to the averagely values. Root and crown rot disease severities in the wheat cropping areas of Trakya Region were de-termined to be 37% in Edirne province, 29% in Tekirdağ province, 30% in Kırklareli province, and averagely 32% in all studying areas. Pathogens causing the diseases were determined as Fusarium sp., Psedocercosporella sp., Rhi-zoctonia sp., Cochliobolus sp., Rhizopus sp., Cephalosporium sp., Gaeumannomyces sp., Pythium sp. and Alternaria sp. The most common pathogen was found to be F. culmorum.

Trakya Bölgesi Buğday Ekiliş Alanlarında Fungal Kaynaklı Kök ve Kökboğazı Çürüklüğü Hastalıklarının Tespiti

Abstract

Trakya Bölgesi Edirne, Tekirdağ ve Kırklareli illeri buğday ekim alanlarında kök ve kökboğazı fungal hastalıklarının durumunu ortaya koymak için sistematik örnekleme sürvey yöntemine göre 2006-2007 yıllarında bir sürvey çalışması yürütülmüş ve bölgede hastalığa sebep olan fungal etmenler belirlenmiştir. Haziran ayının ikinci yarısında buğdayın süt olum dönemi sonunda yürütülen sürvey çalışmasında 2006 yılında 53,2007 yılında ise 56 tarlada örnekleme yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda her iki yılda da örnekleme yapılan tarlaların %100’ünde hastalık simptomları görülmüş, bütünüyle temiz tarlaya rastlanmamıştır. Ortalama değerler üzerinden Edirne ilinde hastalıklı bitki oranı % 85, Tekirdağ ilinde % 73, Kırklareli ilinde ise % 75 olarak belirlenmiştir. Trakya Bölgesi buğday ekim alanlarında tespit edilen kök ve kökbo-ğazı çürüklüğü ortalama hastalık şiddetleri Edirne ilinde % 37, Tekirdağ İlinde % 29, Kırklareli ilinde ise % 30 olarak belirlenirken çalışma alanının genelinde % 32 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Hastalığa sebep olan patojenler Fusarium sp., Pseudocercosporella sp., Rhizoctonia sp., Cochliobolus sp., Rhizopus sp., Cephalosporium sp., Gaeumannomyces sp., Pythium sp., ve Alternaria sp. olarak tespit edilmiştir. En yaygın olan patojen fungus F.culmorum’dur.
