Referee Process

The Journal of Politics, Economics and Management Studies aims to publish in accordance with academic and ethical standards, based on the principle of developing and sharing information, with an objective evaluation process approach, with the beginning of the publication process.
Peer-reviewed studies go through the evaluation process with impartiality. In the evaluation of the studies, a double-blind refereeing system is applied. The double-blind refereeing system is the process of evaluating studies by referees working in different institutions, independent of each other.
The studies submitted to our journal for publication are first evaluated by the journal editor and examined in terms of journal policy, purpose, scope and ethical principles. If the pre-check is positive, it is sent to two different referees who have written at least one thesis/book/book chapter/article on the subject of the study, independent of the journal management, for evaluation. The average article publication time is 4 months.

The preliminary examination of the work files uploaded to the journal system must be completed within 10. After the preliminary examination, an invitation is sent to the referees to accept the evaluation within 15 days. At the end of the 15-day period, if deemed necessary, an additional 5 days will be given and the referees are expected to agree. The referees who do not accept the evaluation request at the end of 20 days are canceled and a new referee is defined.
If the referees accept the evaluation invitation, a 15-day evaluation period is given. Upon the request of the referees, an additional evaluation period of 5 days may be given when necessary. At the end of the referee evaluation (both referees are expected to complete the evaluation), the study is sent to the author(s) for revision if necessary, provided that the information about the referees remains confidential.

In case of positive opinion (including correction requests requested by the author(s)) by both referees, the work moves to the layout stage. If one of the referees approves a positive decision and the other a negative decision, it is sent to the third referee or the editorial board makes the necessary examinations and the final decision is made. The referees can write the necessary correction requests on the text file sent to them, and the referees should fill in the referee evaluation forms sent to them together with the study file and send them to the editor.

Authors may object to referee evaluations with justifications when they deem necessary. In case of disagreement between the referee and the author regarding the content, the editorial board may make the final decision by examining the necessary file. The editorial board can review the referee evaluation forms and submit a reasoned objection to the referee's decisions.
Texts written outside of Turkish are sent to experts in their fields to get their opinions in order to check the conformity of grammar rules. If deemed necessary, corrections may be requested from the author(s) by the field editors.

  • Within the scope of information confidentiality and ethical principles, information about the referees is not published. After the evaluations, the text of thanks is sent to the e-mail addresses of the referees on the internet with a wet signature by the editor.

  • The information of the referees involved in the evaluation process is kept confidential, and the relevant documents are kept by the editorial office for a period of five years.

  • The evaluation period of the studies submitted to our journal for publication is between 4 and 12 weeks. If requested by the authors, information regarding the process is sent to the author(s) via the e-mail address seyad@sakarya.edu.tr.
