Abstract

2000’li yıllar Türkiye belgesel sinemasına ilişkin kısa değerlendirmeleri içeren yazıda, belgesel sinemanın, anımsama, geçmişle hesaplaşma, bellek, ulusal kimlik, kimlik politikaları, politik farkındalık, yeni anlatım tarzları gibi kavramlar çerçevesinde tartışılması ve çalışılması gerektiğine işaret ediliyor. Öte yandan belgeselin, doğaya ve insana karşı yapılan haksızlıklar karşısında insanları nasıl etkileyeceği ve nasıl harekete geçireceği türündeki soruların da tartışmanın önemli bir yanını oluşturduğuna dikkat çekiliyor.

Memory as Documentary Cinema: A Look at Turkish Documentary Cinema of the Last Decade

Abstract

This text features short reviews of Turkish documentary cinema in the 2000s. It suggests that documentary cinema should be studied and discussed in the context of concepts such as remembrance, facing the past, memory, national identity, identity politics, political awareness, and new narrative styles. It also points out that an important part of the discussion centers on such questions as if and how documentaries can influence people to fight against injustices perpetrated on nature and humanity.
