As of January 1, 2026, STAR Journal of Art and Design Research has transitioned to a Continuous Publication (CP) model.
Submissions for our journal’s 2026 issue have been closed as of April 15, 2026. Candidate article applications will be accepted between September 1 and October 31, 2026.
*As of January 19, 2023, the STAR Journal Article Template has been updated. The relevant template must be used in article submissions for June 2023 and subsequent issues.
*Authors are required to upload the Similarity Report to the system. As of March 5, 2024, articles are scanned by the Dergipark system with the İntihal.net program during the submission phase of the article. Similarity rates may be high due to program settings. For this reason, only reports received from IThenticate or Turnitin programs are considered valid by our editorship, and articles with a similarity rate below 15% are evaluated.
Journal of Art and Design Research (STAR) was founded by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Faculty of Fine Arts in 2020. STAR has adopted the mission of sharing research and compilation articles that aim to provide qualified contributions to the literature with the world of science and art in an electronic environment. As of June 30, 2023, the subject headings of our journal have been updated as field and sub-subject headings in line with DergiPark's subject change request. Our journal, which accepts publications in Turkish and English in the fields of interdisciplinary art and design research, has the following subject headings: Architecture and Design Field: Visual Communication Design: Photography, Graphic Design, Computer Aided Design in Visual Communication, Visual Design, Semiology, Illustration Architecture: Interior Architectural Design, Architectural Heritage and Conservation, Architectural Design, Sustainable Architectural Design: Industrial Product Design, Textile and Fashion Design- Music: Music Perception, Music Education, Music Performance, Music Theories, Music (Other), Plastic Arts: Sculpture, Painting, Ceramic Design Art History, Theory and Criticism: Cultural and Natural Heritage, History of Architecture, Aesthetics in Architecture, History of Painting and History of Art. The articles sent to the journal are reviewed by expert referees and accepted to our journal if they are deemed publishable. The articles sent to our journal are evaluated by at least two referees using the blind refereeing method within the electronic article evaluation and tracking system. The articles sent to the journal editorship are subjected to a fast, accurate and scientific referee evaluation process and are published online if accepted.
