STUDENT AND SCHOOL CHARACTERISTICS PREDICTING SCHOOL SATISFACTION LEVELS OF EDUCATIONAL DEPARTMENT STUDENTS

Abstract

The aim of this study was two folded: (a) to determine the predictive value of students’ perceptions of the quality of the services provided by the faculty in predicting students’ academic motivation, self efficacy and school satisfaction, (b) to determine if the predictive value of the students’ perceptions of quality of the services vary depending on the student characteristics. 577 students attending Department of Education in Pamukkale University responded to the instrument developed by the researcher. The results indicated that, although the best predictors of students’ satisfaction levels were the perception of academic quality and campus experiences in general, the best predictors of students’ satisfaction levels were different for students with different characteristics.

EĞİTİM FAKÜLTESİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN FAKÜLTE YAŞANTISINA İLİŞKİN DOYUM DÜZEYLERİNE BELİRLEYEN ÖĞRENCİ VE OKUL ÖZELLİKLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin fakültenin akademik kalite ve yönetim gibi farklı servislerinin yeterliliğine ilişkin algılarının fakülte yaşamından aldıkları genel doyum düzeyi, akademik motivasyonları ve öz yeterlilik algılarını yordama gücünün belirlenmesi ve doyum düzeyini en iyi yordayan servislerin öğrenci özelliklerine göre değişip değişmediğinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada, veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen 62 maddelik “öğrenci doyumu” anketiyle, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinin farklı bölümlerine devam eden 577 öğrenciden toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde aşamalı regresyon analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Analizler doyum düzeyini en iyi yordayan alt boyutların akademik kalite ve kampüs yaşantısı olduğunu, ancak farklı özelliklere sahip öğrenciler için doyum düzeyini en iyi yordayan alt boyutların değiştiğini göstermiştir.
