İYİ BİR ÖĞRENME YÖNETİMİ SİSTEMİ (ÖYS) İÇİN KRİTER ÖNERİSİ

Abstract

Bilgi çağında, teknolojide görülen hızlı gelişmeler; beraberinde etkileşimli bilgisayarları, ağ teknolojilerini ve interneti yaygınlaştırmış, bunların sonucunda da eğitimde geleneksel yöntemlerin yerine yeni yaklaşımlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu yaklaşımlardan “e-öğrenme” gün geçtikçe eğitimdeki etkisini artırmaktadır. Eğitim yönetimi ve hizmet içi eğitim süreçlerini basitleştirmesi yönüyle öğrenme yönetimi sistemleri (ÖYS), e- öğrenmenin önemini artırmaktadır. İyi bir ÖYS'nin sahip olması gereken bazı özellikleri vardır. Bu özelliklerin değerlendirilmesi belirli kriterlere göre yapılmalıdır. Ne var ki, literatürde belirlenmiş genel bir kriter listesi bulunmamakta; genel olarak kurumların öncelikleri sıralanmaktadır. Bunlar, kurumlar veya üniversiteler tarafından kendi ÖYS'lerini değerlendirme ihtiyaçlarına yönelik oluşturulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yüksek öğretim kurumlarında kullanılan ÖYS'lerin değerlendirilmesindeki ana hususları tanımlamak ve bir kriter listesi oluşturmaktır. Bu liste ile, bir ÖYS'nin değerlendirilmesi için zemin oluşturmak amaçlanmıştır.

A CHECKLIST FOR A GOOD LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)

Abstract

The rapid technological developments in this era include a wide range of interactive computers, web technologies, and new approaches other than the traditional lecture-style have been developed largely because of the growth of the Internet. In this sense, a new term has been recognized as “e-learning”. E-learning technologies are increasingly being integrated into organizations' operational flow. The functionality of e- learning is created by a learning management system (LMS) as it simplifies the process of administrative education and training. LMSs should include some essential features. Those characteristics can be assessed by defining certain criteria. In the literature, however, a defined checklist does not exist. The existing ones are built by organizations or universities for their own assessment needs. This study aims to describe the key issues in assessment of a learning management system for higher education institutions and eventually to construct a checklist. This list attempts to provide a ground for assessing an LMS.
