Year 2008, Volume: 27 Issue: 27, 41 - 47, 01.01.2008

Abstract

Background: The Ege University Medical Faculty (EUMF) has attempted to improve the nutrition teaching in recent years and a Nutrition Education Programme (NEP) has been developed for the first year students. The aims of this study are to describe the NEP and to evaluate the short-term efficiency of the programme in terms of the intention of the students to change their dietary habits and participant feedback. Design: The NEP was evaluated by student success, impact and process evaluation. The impact evaluation criterion was the changes in nutrient intake and food consumption patterns among students two months after the NEP. Student success was evaluated by homework. The questionnaire as a process evaluation prepared in order to determine the opinions of the students on the program. Results: 50,5% of students declared that dietary habits' attitudes changed after NEP. Mean calorie, mean fruit, meat/fish/sea food/legumes servings intake were significantly higher after the NEP (p

EGE ÜNİVERSİTESİ TIP FAKÜLTESİ BİRİNCİ SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNE VERİLEN BESLENME EĞİTİMİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Year 2008, Volume: 27 Issue: 27, 41 - 47, 01.01.2008

Abstract

Bulgular: Öğrencilerin %50,5’i eğitimin ardından beslenme alışkanlıklarında değişiklik yaptıklarını belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin günlük ortalama kalori alımı ve tükettikleri günlük meyve, et/kurubaklagil porsiyon sayısı ortalamaları eğitim sonunda artmıştır (p
