GÖÇMEN ÇOCUKLARIN OKULLARDA İLK KARŞILANMASI: İNGİLTERE ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Göçmen
çocukların eğitimindeki ilk aşama, onların okullarda karşılanmasıdır. Göçmen
çocuğun okulda ilk karşılanmasında okul ve personelin çeşitli hazırlıkları
yapmış olması beklenmektedir. Bu süreçte okul müdürü ve sınıf öğretmeninin
çeşitli sorumlulukları ve görevleri bulunmaktadır. Çocuk, ailesiyle birlikte
okula ilk kez geldiğinde bir görüşme yapılır. Yapılan ilk görüşme okula gelen
çocuk hakkında bilginin toplanmasını ve yeni gelen ebeveynlere de okulla ilgili
bilgi verilmesini sağlar. Görüşme çocuk okula başlamadan önce ebeveynlerle
yapılmalıdır. Okulda ilk görüşmeye hazırlanılırken, bazı hususların dikkate
alınması gerekmektedir. İlk görüşme bittikten sonra, yeni gelen için plan
yapılabilmesini sağlayacak bir bilgi kaynağına sahip olunacaktır. İyi planlama
hem yeni gelen çocuğa hem de personele katkı sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmada,
İngiltere’ye göç etmiş bir çocuğun, ebeveynleri ile birlikte okula ilk
gelişlerinde karşılamanın nasıl gerçekleştiğinin açıklanması amaçlanmaktadır.
