Murat Yakar was born in Mersin in 1968. He graduated from Selçuk University, Department of Geomatics Engineering in 1991, completed his PhD in 2002, and was promoted to full professor in 2017. An expert in photogrammetry and remote sensing, he has contributed to numerous international projects, including TIKA’s Mongolian Turkish Monuments Project, as well as nearly 50 national projects in Turkey. In 2017, he founded the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Mersin University, initiated several postgraduate programs, and played a leading role in launching major scientific congresses and international journals. He has authored 85 books, nearly 200 journal articles, and more than 200 conference papers, and continues to supervise graduate students in Turkey and abroad. Prof. Yakar currently serves at the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mersin University.
Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığından 2023 Ağustos ayında Kıdemli Albay olarak emekli oldum. Denizaltıcıyım. Hali hazırda İstanbul Nişantaşı Üniversitesi Havacılık Elektrik Elektronik Bölüm başkanıyım. Uzmanlık alanım güç elektroniği, denizaltı, elektrikli gemi sevk sistemleridir. Dijital Park Teknokent Ataşehirde denizaltı tasarımıyla ilgilenen bir şirketim bulunmaktadır.
Tamer Savaş, 2010 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği bölümünden ve 2011 yılında aynı üniversitenin Havacılık Elektrik ve Elektroniği bölümünden çift anadal programını tamamlayarak mezun olmuştur. 2015 yılında Pilotaj Ana Bilim Dalı’nda yüksek lisansını, 2019 yılında ise Hava Trafik Kontrolü alanında doktorasını tamamlamıştır. Lisansüstü çalışmalarında insansız hava araçları ve hava sahası yönetimi gibi konulara odaklanmıştır. Halen Eskişehir Teknik Üniversitesi'nde Pilotaj Bölümü'nde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır.

Mustafa Ustuner received his PhD and MSc degrees in Geomatic Engineering from Yildiz Technical University and his BSc in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University, Türkiye. He was a visiting researcher in the Geo-Spatial Analytics Lab at the University of South Florida in the US and in the Department of Earth Observation, Institute of Geography at the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in Germany.
Currently, He is working as an assistant professor for Samsun University, Türkiye. As an editorial task, I have been serving as an associate editor for the European Journal of Remote Sensing, Turkish Journal of Remote Sensing and Geoplanning: Journal of Geomatics and Planning. Also, He was one of the guest editors of the special issue entitled "Advances in Remote Sensing for Monitoring and Characterising Vegetation Responses to Changing and Extreme Climatic Conditions" in MDPI Remote Sensing.
His main research interests include Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) Remote Sensing, Applied Machine Learning and particularly Hyperspectral Data Analysis. Recently, he is working on dimensionality reduction and classification of hyperspectral images.
Marta Czaplicka – an assistant professor at the Department of Socio-Economic Geography, was involved in research on geospatial analyses and the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools in socio-economic geography and land management. Currently working on research projects financed by the National Science Center of Poland.
Giuseppe Pulighe currently works at the Research Center for Agricultural Policies and Bioeconomy, Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA). He is working in the field of Agronomy, Bioenergy, Land Use Change, Water Management, Remote Sensing and GIS. He has authored over 60 journal publications and conference contributions. Regularly serves as reviewer for international journals. I deliver professional training courses on SWAT+, with a focus on practical implementation and applied modelling in professional contexts.
Fabiana Calò received her Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Politecnico di Bari and a PhD in Analysis of Environmental Systems at University of Napoli Federico II. She has been Visiting Scientist at Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, Ottawa (2008) and Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul (2014-2015). Since 2010 she works at National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, Institute of Electromagnetic Sensing of Environment in Napoli, first as Post-Doc fellow and then as permanent Researcher. Her research interests mainly focus on the study of natural and man-made hazards, and on the natural resources protection by integrating ground-based and Earth Observation data and information.
Dr. Maomao Zhang is an active researcher at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He was selected as one of the top 2% of scientists globally, according to a joint announcement by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2025. Currently, his main research interests include Land Use and Environmental Planning, Urban Climate, Remote Sensing, Sustainable Development, and Machine Learning Algorithms. So far, he has published about 60 peer-reviewed papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals such as Cell reports sustainability, Sustainable Cities and Society, Habitat International, Journal of environmental management, Urban climate, Energy and Buildings, Energy Reports, Ecological Indicators, Environment, Development and Sustainability, Advances in Space Research, Earth Science Informatics, and Journal for Nature Conservation. He has reviewed more than 100 SCI/SSCI articles. He serves as the as anonymous reviewer of more than 60 journals such as Natural Cities, Cell reports sustainability, Sustainable cities and society, Environmental impact assessment review, Cities, Remote sensing, Applied geography, iScience, Building and environment, Physics and chemistry of the earth, Journal of environmental management, Urban climate, Ecological Indicators, etc. He has served as a guest editor for SCI/SSCI journals such as Atmosphere, Land, Applied Sciences, Discover Cities, and Frontiers in Environmental Science.
