To ensure a timely publication process, authors are asked to read the following instructions carefully.

ETHICS
Authors are responsible for complying with ethical guidelines. Investigations involving human subjects should conform to accepted ethical standards. Fully informed consent should be obtained and explicitly noted in the manuscript. For all manuscripts detailing experimental work involving human subjects, authors must specify that informed consent was obtained following a full explanation of the procedures undertaken. Patients should be referred to by number; real names or initials must not be used.
In experimental studies on animals, it must be stated that the study protocol was approved by the animal experiment ethics committee at the institution where the study was conducted. Authors must submit the ethics committee's approval alongside the article. If the article contains previously published text, tables, pictures, or other materials, authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holder and clearly indicate the source of the used material in the manuscript. During the manuscript evaluation process, authors may be requested to submit the research data and/or the ethics committee approval document if deemed necessary.

PLAGIARISM POLICY
Manuscripts submitted to the Turkish Journal of Health Science and Life are evaluated for plagiarism and similarity using detection software packages (e.g., iThenticate, Turnitin). The acceptable threshold for the similarity index is 20%; however, the editorial team may decide to return the manuscript based on the nature of the plagiarism or the extent of similarity from a single document. Plagiarism detected in any published article will result in immediate retraction and the blacklisting of the author(s).

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

The Ethical Responsibilities of the Authors
Originality of Work: Authors are expected to submit original work.
Proper Citation: If authors use or reference other works, they must provide complete and accurate citations.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Any situations or relationships that could lead to a conflict of interest must be disclosed in the submitted manuscript.
Data Transparency: Raw data related to the manuscript may be requested during the evaluation process. In such cases, authors must be prepared to provide this data and information to the editorial and scientific boards.
Correction and Retraction: If authors discover an error or inaccuracy in their published, in-press, or under-review work, they are obligated to inform the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to make corrections or retractions.
Exclusive Submission: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at a time. The manuscript must not have been previously published in another journal.
Responsibility for Plagiarism: While the journal checks manuscripts to prevent plagiarism, authors are ultimately responsible for the academic consequences of plagiarism.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
Contribution to Academic Quality: Reviewers are expected to recognize their critical role in determining the academic quality of a manuscript and to conduct their evaluations with the goal of enhancing that quality.
Expertise and Confidentiality: Reviewers should only accept invitations to review manuscripts that fall within their area of expertise. Furthermore, they must be able to maintain the confidentiality required by the double-blind peer review process and commit to keeping all manuscript details strictly confidential.
Impartiality and Objectivity: The evaluation should be based solely on the accuracy of the manuscript's content and its adherence to academic standards. A reviewer's personal opinions or disagreements with an author's perspective must not influence the review process.
Constructive and Clear Feedback: Review reports must be written in a constructive and objective tone, and should strictly avoid any demeaning, pejorative, or accusatory language. In cases of negative feedback, specific deficiencies and errors within the manuscript should be clearly and concretely articulated.
Timely Submission: Reviewers are obligated to complete their evaluations within the designated timeframe. If they are unable to review the manuscript, they must inform the journal management within a reasonable period.

Duties and Responsibilities of The Editor
Manuscript Evaluation: Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts that fall within the journal's stated scope.
Final Authority: The ultimate authority and responsibility for the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests solely with the editors.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must avoid any conflicts of interest and must not derive personal gain from their decisions regarding manuscript evaluation and publication.
Academic Standards: The primary criteria for manuscript acceptance are academic rigor and scientific standards.
Process Management: It is the editors' duty to ensure that the evaluation, peer review, revision, and publication processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Confidentiality: A fundamental responsibility of editors is to protect the confidentiality of both authors' and reviewers' identities.
Plagiarism Prevention: Editors must make every possible effort to prevent plagiarism in all submitted manuscripts.

PUBLICATION POLICIES
Double-Blind Peer Review:
o Manuscripts that meet the formal and minimum academic criteria, as determined by the editorial board, are sent to at least two reviewers.
o Manuscripts receiving one rejection and one acceptance are forwarded to a third reviewer.
o Manuscripts receiving two acceptances are published.
o However, if the editorial board finds the reasons for rejection sufficiently compelling and determines that the issues cannot be rectified within one publication period, they may reject the manuscript with a single rejection decision.

Average Decision Time:
o The average time from manuscript submission to the final decision typically ranges from 6 to 8 weeks. This timeframe may vary depending on the reviewers' response times and the corresponding author's adherence to requested revisions.

Plagiarism Screening:
o All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening via the intihal.net similarity report, which is integrated into the DergiPark system.
o If authors experience technical difficulties with the integrated plagiarism check, they are permitted to submit similarity reports from alternative software like iThenticate.
o Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 20% will not be published.
o The editorial team may decide to return the manuscript based on the nature of plagiarism or the extent of similarity from a single document
