The Journal of Turkish Librarianship is the official quarterly publication of the Turkish Librarians' Association. It contains original scientific articles, opinions, reader letters, article translations, news and professional meeting announcements in Turkish and English, which review issues related to information and documentation management and offer solutions for those. No processing fee is required for articles to be submitted to the journal.

Turkish Librarianship journal (Türk Kütüphaneciliği) is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (Clarivate Analytics/ ESCI)", "Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA)", "Library, Information Science and Technology Abstracts (LISTA)","Bibliography of Articles in Turkish Periodicals" and "TUBITAK/ ULAKBIM TR Index Social and Humanity Sciences Database". Turkish Librarianship is an open access journal and listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

All submissions to the journal are subject to assessment by the Editorial Board and the Peer Review Board. The opinions expressed are those of the authors only. They do not necessarily represent the views of the Turkish Librarianship journal.

Articles accepted for the scientific section of the journal, after completing the editorial process, are subject to scientific evaluation by the double-blind method. Articles, which belong to other sections, are evaluated by the editorial board.

Türk Kütüphaneciliği açık erişimli bir dergidir. Derginin yayımcısı olan Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği, yayıma kabul edilen makaleleri ve diğer içerikleri ücretsiz olarak Creative Commons Alıntı 4.0 Uluslararası Lisansı ile Dergi web sitesinden ücretsiz olarak yayımlamaktadır. Dergi ve Derginin web sitesi ile yayın süreçleri için kullanılan platform olan DergiPark, yazarlar ve okuyuculardan herhangi bir ücret almamaktadır.

İlkokul eğitimini Elazığ, ortaokul ve lise eğitimini İstanbul’da, üniversite eğitimini ise İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Kütüphanecilik Bölümünde tamamladı. Daha sonra İstanbul Üniversitesi Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Radyo-TV Bölümü’nde yüksek lisans yaptı. Bu süreçte Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Kütüphanesi’nde uzman kütüphaneci olarak görev yapmaktaydı. Daha sonra bu kurumda 7 yıl Kütüphane ve Dokümantasyon Daire Başkanı olarak çalıştı. 2011 yılında “Ceza İnfaz Kurumu Kütüphaneleri ve Türkiye'de durum” başlıklı doktora tezi çalışması ile İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Dokümantasyon ve Enformasyon Anabilim Dalında doktora eğitimini tamamladı. 2012 yılında Kastamonu Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi Bölümünde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaya başladı. Hala aynı kurumda görev yapmaktadır. Demir’in çok kültürlü ve çeşitli dezavantajlı gruplara yönelik kütüphane hizmetleri, kütüphane kaygısı, üçüncü mekân paradigması, post modernizm, yoksulluk sorunu, sosyal ağlar vb. çeşitli konularda ulusal ve uluslararası akademik çalışmaları bulunmaktadır. Demir, ayrıca 2021 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi Açık Öğretim Fakültesi Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği Bölümünden mezun olmuştur.
