Niksar Journal of Academic Studies aims to evaluate original research articles and book reviews in the field of social and human sciences in accordance with scientific publishing principles and ethical rules, and to make them available to readers and researchers. The journal's target audience is academics, students, and readers who strive to shed light on science. Niksar Academic Studies Journal is a peer-reviewed journal planned to be published twice a year (June and December). Peer review is conducted according to a double-blind peer review process, and the confidentiality of author and reviewer information is paramount in the evaluation.
Submissions to the Niksar Academic Studies Journal undergo a preliminary review by the editorial board, and suitable works are scheduled for publication after receiving positive reports from at least two reviewers.
Niksar Journal of Academic Studies (TOGUNAC) was launched in October 2024 by the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University in Niksar.
The Niksar Journal of Academic Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (in June and December).
The journal publishes scientific studies in the field of social and human sciences. Authors who wish to publish their work in the journal can apply via Dergipark using the template in the writing rules section. All studies must be submitted with a similarity report, ethics committee permissions if necessary, author information form, and copyright transfer form.
There is no fee for publishing studies in the journal. Niksar Academic Studies Journal has an open access policy. The journal is published electronically only.
1. All works submitted to the journal must be original and must not have been previously published or presented elsewhere.
2. Works submitted to the journal are reviewed in terms of publication principles and technical requirements. In this context, articles submitted to the journal must be formatted according to the journal's publication principles and writing rules. Editors and the editorial board have the authority to reject or return to the author for revision any article that does not comply with the journal's writing rules, ethical principles, purpose, and scope.
3. All scientific studies to be submitted to the journal must be written in accordance with the Journal Article Template. Authors can work on the template. Editors and the editorial board have the authority to reject articles that do not comply with the template or return them to the author for revision.
4. All scientific studies to be submitted to the journal are accepted via DergiPark. All studies must be submitted together with a similarity report, ethical committee permissions if required, and the Copyright Transfer Form.
5. Authors cannot have more than one article published in a single issue. The authors are solely responsible for the content of the works to be published in the journal.
6. The plagiarism (similarity) report of the studies to be submitted to the journal should not exceed 20%. Studies that do not comply with this rule will be rejected by the Editorial Board during the preliminary evaluation stage before entering the referee evaluation process. The similarity report will be automatically obtained by the DergiPark system as the last step of article submission. After receiving the similarity report, authors can complete the upload process if the similarity rate is acceptable (less than 20%) or, if it is not acceptable (similarity rate greater than 20%), they can correct the article and resubmit it.
7. All works must be prepared using MS Office Word, in A4 size, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. The author and institution information should not be included in the first submission of the work. This section will be sent back to the author for correction after acceptance.
8. The Turkish Language Association Spelling Guide should be used for spelling and punctuation in the studies.
9. The title of the studies should be in both Turkish and English Title – Times New Roman 12 point, centered, all letters capitalized in Turkish, first letters of words capitalized in English.
10. Each paper must include a Turkish and English abstract of between 150 and 250 words. Abstracts should be written in 10-point font, justified, single-spaced, with 0nk paragraph spacing before and after. Keywords consisting of at least 3 and at most 5 words should be written below the abstracts. The Turkish and English keywords should be in 10-point font, italicized, with the first letter of each word capitalized. The abstracts should include the purpose, scope, method, and important findings and conclusions of the study.
11. Main headings such as INTRODUCTION, THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK, and CONCLUSION should be written in all capital letters. All other headings should be written with the first letter of each word capitalized. All headings should be left-aligned.
12. Except for abstracts and footnotes, all text should be in Times New Roman font, 12-point bold, with 1cm indentation, 1.5cm line spacing, and 0nk front and 6nk back paragraph spacing.
13. If tables, images, and graphics are added, they should be referenced. The resolution of tables and images should be legible, and the text within tables should be 10-point or 9-point depending on the size of the table.
14. Tables should be formatted according to APA style. Table titles should be centered above the table; 11-point font, 0nk paragraph spacing before and after, and line spacing of 1.15. If there are table captions, they should be centered below the table; 11-point font, 0nk paragraph spacing before and 6nk paragraph spacing after, and line spacing of 1.15.
15. Figure titles should be centered below the figure, in 11-point font, with 0 pt leading and 6 pt spacing before and after, and line spacing of 1.15.
16. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should not exceed 30 pages in length, including the references.
17. References and citations should be prepared in accordance with the APA 7 citation style. Every citation made in the text must be included in the reference list, and likewise, it must be ensured that every work included in the reference list is also included in the text. The Editor and Publishing Institution reserve the right to reject or return articles whose references are not prepared according to APA 7 for revision.

18. All sources used in the study must be listed in the bibliography section in alphabetical order by the authors' last names, providing all information about the works.
Our journal meticulously applies the principles established by the “Higher Education Institutions Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Guidelines” and the “Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)” while fulfilling its ethical duties and responsibilities.
Submissions to our journal are first reviewed by the editor-in-chief for form and content, and if they comply with the journal's rules, they are sent to at least two reviewers in the relevant field.
The review process is conducted according to a double-blind peer review system, where the confidentiality of the author and reviewer information is paramount.
Based on the reports received from the reviewers, a decision is made to publish (accept), request corrections (revision), or not publish (reject) the article, and this decision is communicated to the authors within an average of 1 month. Articles requested for revision will not be published if they are not revised by the author(s) within the specified time frame. Manuscripts that receive a positive outcome in the peer review process are scheduled for publication.
The opinions and scientific responsibility in the articles belong to the author(s) and have no connection with the journal. When authors submit their academic work to our journal for publication and a decision is made to publish the article, the authors are deemed to have transferred their publication rights to the journal.
By submitting their scientific work, authors are deemed to have accepted these principles.
