Abstract
Öğrenciler, okul yıllarını tamamladıklarında ne bilmeli ve yapabilmeli?
Şüphesiz, hatırlanası-olgular-listesi, bu soruya verilecek yeterli bir cevap
değildir. Çoğu müfredat belgesi "tarihsel düşünme"yi içinde
barındırır, ancak öğretmen ve öğrenciler için "tarihsel düşünme"nin
anlamını açıklamada çok yardımcı olmazlar. O halde cevap "daha fazla
olgu" değilse, okullarda çok sayıda yıla yayılan tarih eğitimi için
müfredatın temeli ne olmalıdır? Bu temel her neyse, tarih değerlendirmelerini
de beslemelidir. Aksi takdirde, öğrencilerin seyahat edip etmediğini çok da
umursamadığımız bir yolculuğu ölçmüş oluruz. Genel müfredatta tarih eğitiminin
değerleri olarak bahsi geçen ifadeler, tarih değerlendirmelerini beslemediği
sürece, yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu belge, tarih değerlendirmelerini
şekillendirmek amacıyla tarihsel düşünmeyi tanımlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
