Turkish Journal of Forest Science is an online, open access, international, and double-blind peer reviewed scientific journal, publishing original research articles concerning all aspects of forest engineering, forest product engineering, wildlife ecology and management and landscape architecture. The journal publishes original research and review articles that are prepared in accordance with the ethical guidelines.

The editorial and publication processes of the journal are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and National Information Standards Organization (NISO). The journal conforms to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (doaj.org/bestpractice).

ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Authors must not submit a manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Related to this subject, authors should not submit previously published work, as well. All authors must agree with any such addition, removal or rearrangement. The authors should ensure that if they use other person’s ideas, language, pictures and tables, this has been appropriately cited or quoted and permission has been obtained where necessary. The authors should follow the rules stated in this section (plagiarism, duplication, self-plagiarism, authorship, false citation, fabrication, unethical research and measures, conflict of interest, main principles etc.) for the papers that they sent.

By submitting an article, the author(s) certify that the article is their original work, that the paper has not been submitted or published elsewhere (in print, online/blog, etc.), that the article and its contents do not infringe in any way on the rights of third parties, and that they take full responsibility of any risk of therein.

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the paper (e.g. language editing), they should be recognized in the “Acknowledgements” section. If the work involves “scientific researches/studies conducted with the participation of human excluding clinical researches”, the author should ensure that the paper contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with the human rights legislation, and that the appropriate institutional committee(s)/the university ethics committee have/has approved them.

If the work involves the use of experimental or wild animals (or animal material), the author should ensure that the paper contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with the principles of “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals”, relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s)/the university ethics committee have/has approved them.

If the work involves the permission of the ethics committee, information on permission (name of the board, date and number) should be given in the methodology section and in the first or last page of the article. under the permission of the ethics committee. In case reports, you provide an informed volunteer / consent form to sign the article.

If there are any commercial ties or institutions supporting the research financially, they should be recognized in the “Acknowledgements” section and the authors should state that there are no relationship with the mentioned institution or organization, or if any, nature of the relationship should be stated.

Editors are fully authorized to make necessary changes and edit the paper in order to ensure the compliance with the writing and publishing guideline. Editors should be aware that any information related to the paper is confidential and should not be shared with anyone, but the authors and the reviewers.
