The Writing Rules

TITLE

The Turkish and English title of text must be written in 12 points, with bold and uppercase letters.

 

AUTHOR NAME

On the right side under the title, the name should be written in lowercase and the surname in uppercase letters with bold and italicized; title, institution and e-mail address should be given at the bottom of the first page in a footnote with an asterisk next to the surname. 

The author of the article should clearly state his / her name and surname, institution and academic title. The author should report his / her open address, telephone number and e-mail address to the Editorial Board for communication.

 

ORCID

ORCID, is the abbreviation of Open Researcher and Contributor ID and a numbered URI consisting of 16 digits that conforms to the ISO Standard (ISO 27729), also known as the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI).

In our journal, ORCID, which is an international researcher identification number, has been made obligatory in order to prevent problems that may arise from the similarities in the name or institution information of the authors, changes in surnames and names written in Turkish characters.

This number is available free of charge at https://orcid.org/register. ORCID number must be used at the required place when article is sent to our system. Additionally, the ORCID number should be added to the bottom line of the title, institution, e-mail address information in the footnote at the bottom of the first page.

ABSTRACT

Turkish and English abstracts (maximum 200 words) must be present at the beginning of the article. References, figures and chart etc. should not be included in the abstract. At the bottom of the abstract, up to five-word keywords should be written. Summary and keywords should be written with Times New Roman 11 points, single line spacing and it should be prepared in Turkey Turkish or in English.

If the article is written with one of the modern Turkish dialects, firstly, title and summary in used dialect then title and summary in Turkey Turkish and then English title and summary should be written.

ARTICLE TEXT

Articles should be written in A4 size paper with Times New Roman font, 11 points, single line spacing, paragraph indentation 1.25, paragraph spacing first 6nk- then 0nk, 3cm margins on page edges and without page numbering. Examples in the text should be in italics, and the meanings should be in quotation marks and upright. The writing rules and abbreviations of the Turkish Language Institution should be applied in articles. (Latest Published Writing Rules) If the author use a special font, he/she should sent fonts with the writing. Besides, images, shapes etc. used in the writing should be numbered.

If the articles sent to our journal are written in other Turkish dialects, then the writing rules of that dialect will be preserved.

 

USAGE OF UPPER AND LOWER CASE IN THE TITLES

TITLE OF THE ARTICLE

The title of the article must be written in 12 points, with bold, upper case letters and should be centered on the page.

Özet - Abstract

Only the initials should be upper case letters. The Abstract title should be bold and centered on the page

 Key words: Only the initials should be upper case letters, the key words title should be left alligned but the key words shoul not be in bold characters.

Introduction and other titles: Only the initials should be upper case letters and left alligned.

Abbravations: Only the initials should be upper case letters and left alligned.

Refrences: Only the initials should be upper case, letters and left alligned.

 

CITING SOURCES

Citing inside the text should be shown as follows: surname, date, page number: (Buran, 2015: 81). The citation texts less than three lines should be given in quotes, more than three lines citations should be given in 9 points, single space and indented 1 cm from left and right. For the thesis, the university, degree and the date should be supplied. Footnotes should be given at the bottom of the page in numbers (9 points) and should only be used for explanations. APA style should be used for references.

TABLES AND FIGURES

The number and the explanations of the tables should placed over the table as Table 1:……. with 10 points and centered.

The texts inside the tables should be single spaced, 9 points and 0 paragraph space.

The number and explanations for the figures should be placed below the figure as Figure 1: …… with 10 points and centered. 

SUBMISSION OF THE ARTICLES

The articles written with the above-mentioned rules should be sent via ARTICLE SUBMISSION SYSTEM.

In order to send your manuscript via ARTICLE SUBMISSION SYSTEM:

* After being a member of the system, log into the system with your user name (e mail address) and the password.

* In the upcoming screen, select “submit your article” and fill the necessary spaces.

* The manuscript should be submitted in MS Word format.

OPEN ACCESS SYSTEM

TURKLAD is an open access journal. The users do not need to ask for permission for reading, uploading, copying and etc. from the authors.
