USE OF MUSIC IN PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION: EVALUATION OF EXISTING STUDIES

Abstract

Giving importance to and developing preschool education contributes significantly to the progress of societies. Research shows that receiving a quality education at an early age positively affects children's social and cognitive development. One of the goals of preschool education is to raise self-confident and creative children through a quality education. Considering all these, music lessons in preschool education should be structured correctly and should be taught in an educational and instructive way for children. This study aims to present a different perspective by evaluating the place and importance of music education in the preschool period. This study was prepared by review method and the existing literature was analyzed systematically. The findings obtained from the literature review, examination, and research conducted in this article reveal that music education in the preschool period contributes to the all-round development of children. Music education supports children's cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills while at the same time motivating an effective learning process.

OKUL ÖNCESİ EĞİTİMDE MÜZİK KULLANIMI: MEVCUT ÇALIŞMALARIN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Okul öncesi eğitime önem vermek ve geliştirmek toplumların ilerleyişine önemli katkılar sağlar. Yapılan araştırmalar erken yaşta kaliteli bir eğitim almanın, çocukların sosyal ve bilişsel gelişimini olumlu yönde etkilediğini ortaya koymaktadır. Kaliteli bir eğitim sayesinde özgüvenli ve yaratıcı çocuklar yetiştirmek okul öncesi eğitimin hedeflerinden biridir. Bütün bunlar göz önüne alındığında, okul öncesi eğitim döneminde müzik dersi doğru yapılandırılmalı ve çocuklar için eğitici-öğretici bir şekilde işlenmelidir. Bu araştırma okul öncesi dönemde müzik eğitiminin yeri ve öneminin değerlendirilerek farklı bir bakış açısı sunulmasını amaçlamıştır. Bu çalışma, derleme yöntemi ile hazırlanmış ve mevcut literatür sistematik bir biçimde analiz edilmiştir. Makalede yapılan literatür taraması, inceleme ve araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, okul öncesi dönemde müzik eğitiminin çocukların çok yönlü gelişimine katkı sağladığını ortaya koymaktadır. Müzik eğitimi, çocukların bilişsel, sosyal-duygusal ve motor becerilerini desteklerken aynı zamanda etkili öğrenme süreçlerini güçlendiren önemli bir araç olarak öne çıkmaktadır.
