YEGAH MÜZİKOLOJİ DERGİSİ (e-ISSN: 2792-0178) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to publishing original and high-quality academic works in the field of musicology, strictly adhering to international publishing standards and ethical principles. Operating under a continuous publication model, the journal ensures a dynamic contribution to academic literature by publishing accepted articles immediately upon the successful completion of editorial review and blind peer-review processes, maintained with full scientific impartiality.
 

YMJ accepts only high-quality academic papers that remain within the theoretical and analytical boundaries of the musicology discipline. Submissions that do not meet the following criteria will be rejected by the editorial board without peer review.

I. Accepted Scopes

  1. Historical Musicology: Researches based on archival documents, primary sources, and period analyses.
  2. Systematic Musicology: Technical examinations on music theory, formal and modal analyses, musical aesthetics, and psycho-acoustics.
  3. Ethnomusicology: Original studies focusing on fieldwork, addressing both cultural context and musical structure.
  4. Interdisciplinary Researches: Interactions such as music-technology or music-sociology; provided that the core problematic remains musicological.

II. Out of Scope (Subject to Immediate Rejection)

  • Pedagogy and Teaching Methods: Studies solely on instructional techniques or music education statistics.
  • Descriptive Statistics: Papers providing only survey data or descriptive summaries without analytical depth.
  • Inventory and Literature Reviews: Submissions that do not present a new claim/finding or only summarize existing information.
