Aim & Scope

Yegah Musicology Journal

aims to make a high-quality contribution to the musicology literature by publishing original academic studies that address music through historical, theoretical, analytical, and cultural perspectives within the context of the humanities.

The Journal serves as a publication platform for studies in the fields of historical musicology, systematic musicology, ethnomusicology, and music theory that offer music-centred, in-depth analysis and are based on original field research. Interdisciplinary approaches are considered for evaluation only on the condition that they centre on a musicological problematic.

Scope and Limitations

Our journal does not accept submissions that fall outside the boundaries of the musicology discipline; those focusing solely on pedagogical practice (music education methods and techniques), descriptive statistical surveys, or general inventory lists that do not include analysis. Our primary priority is that submitted works include a theoretical framework and generate new knowledge or perspectives in musicology.

Publication Model

Yegah Musicology Journal operates on a continuous publication model for the current publication period, starting in 2026, thus eliminating the practice of publishing in specific months. Articles are published online directly after completing the editorial and peer-review processes.
