Akran Değerlendirme ve Akademik Başarı: Bir Karma-Meta Yöntemi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, akran değerlendirmenin akademik başarı üzerindeki etkisini incelemek ve bu konuda yayımlanmış çalışmaları karma-meta yöntemi ile analiz ederek daha kapsamlı sonuçlara ulaşabilmektir. Bu amaçla, ulusal ve uluslararası alanda farklı veri tabanlarından, 2005 yılı sonrasındaki nicel (meta-analiz) ve nitel (meta-tematik analiz) boyutlu çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Nicel boyutta, akran değerlendirmesinin akademik başarı üzerindeki etkisini araştırmak için bir meta-analiz uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar, akran değerlendirmesinin akademik başarıyı önemli ölçüde artırabileceğini ve eğitim ortamlarında olumlu çıktılar sağlayabileceğini göstermektedir. Nitel boyutta, akran değerlendirmenin akademik başarıya katkısı, sosyal boyuta olan etkisi, sınırlı yönleri ve bunlara sunulan çözüm önerileri meta-tematik analiz ile incelenmiştir. Doküman analizi ile toplanan veriler içerik analizi teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, akran değerlendirmesinin öğrencilere objektif bakış açıları sağlama, iletişim becerilerini geliştirme ve yapıcı geri bildirim sunma gibi çeşitli faydalar sunduğunu göstermektedir. Yapılandırılmış ve yönlendirilmiş akran değerlendirme uygulamalarının, öğrencilerin kendi öğrenmeleriyle ilgili sorumluluk duygularını ve genel akademik başarılarını olumlu yönde etkileyebileceğine dair kanıtlar giderek artmaktadır.

Peer Assesment and Academic Achievement: A Mixed-Meta Method

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of peer assessment on academic achievement and to reach more comprehensive results by analysing the studies published on this subject with the mixed-meta method. To this end, quantitative (meta-analysis) and qualitative (meta-thematic analysis) studies published after 2005 from various national and international databases were examined. In the quantitative dimension, a meta-analysis was performed to investigate the effect of peer assessment on academic achievement. The results suggest that peer assessment can significantly enhance academic achievement and foster positive outcomes in educational settings. In the qualitative dimension, a meta-thematic analysis was conducted to examine the contributions of peer assessment to academic achievement, its social impact, its limitations, and potential solutions. Data collected through document analysis were analysed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that peer assessment offers several benefits, including providing students with objective perspectives, improving communication skills, and offering constructive feedback. There is growing evidence that structured and guided peer assessment practices can positively impact students' sense of responsibility for their learning and their overall academic success.
