İzmir Körfezi’nde Yabani Mercan Balığı (Pagellus acarne Risso, 1827)’nın Üreme Özellikleri

Öz

Bu çalışmada, İzmir Körfezi’nden Ekim 2012-Eylül 2013 tarihleri arasında aylık olarak ticari balıkçılardan elde edilen yabani mercan balığı (Pagellus acarne Risso, 1827)’nın üreme özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Araştırma süresince toplam 1031 adet yabani mercan balığı incelenmiştir. Örneklerin total boy ve ağırlıkları dişi bireylerde 11,9-20,8 cm ile 23,95-114,50 g, erkek bireylerde ise 11,1-19,4 cm ile 19,62-102,9 g arasında dağılım göstermiştir. Dişi:erkek oranı 1,17:1 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Protandrik hermafrodit olarak karakterize edilen bu türün, gonadosomatik indeks (GSİ) değerlerine göre, araştırma bölgesindeki üreme periyodunun Eylül-Aralık ayları arasında olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bir dişinin bir defada bıraktığı yumurta miktarının, 14504-56401 adet/birey arasında değiştiği gözlenmiştir. Olgunlaşmış yumurta çapları 200-1020 µm arasında değişim göstermiştir.

Reproductive Properties of Axillary Seabream (Pagellus acarne Risso, 1827) in İzmir Bay

Öz

In the study, the reproductive biology of the axillary seabream (Pagellus acarne Risso, 1827) was investigated between October 2012 and September 2013 in İzmir Bay from the samples of commercial catches. A total of 1031 specimens were examined in the study period. The total length and weight distribution of the specimens were 11.9-20.8 cm – 23.95-114.5 g for females and 11.1-19.4 cm – 19.62-102.9 g for males and the sex ratio (female:male) was 1.17:1. The gonadosomatic index (GSI) values showed that the reproduction period of this protandric species was from September to December in the study area. The fecundity of females in one batch was estimated as between 14504-56401. The riped egg diameter ranged from around 200 to 1020 µm.
