Özet
Günümüzde organ nakli bekleyen hastaların sayısı giderek arttığı için yoğun bakımlarda beyin ölümü tanısı koymak ve iyi bir donör bakımı yapabilmek daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Beyin ölümü tanısının doğru ve gecikmeden konmasında anestezistlerin ve yoğun bakım uzmanlarının tıbbi ve hukuki açıdan önemli sorumlulukları vardır. Bu yazıda beyin ölümü tarihçesi, tanı kriterleri, ve ülkemizdeki hukuk mevzuatı sunulmuştur.
