This study aims to examine the effects of cyberbullying on loneliness and self-esteem among university students and to explore the mediating role of basic psychological need satisfaction in these relationships. The research is based on survey data collected from 485 students enrolled at Konya Necmettin Erbakan University and Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University during the 2022-2023 academic year. Using a predictive correlational research design, the study thoroughly analyzes the relationships between cyberbullying, loneliness, self-esteem, and basic psychological need satisfaction. The findings indicate that exposure to cyberbullying increases students' levels of loneliness and negatively impacts their self-esteem. Additionally, it is determined that the level of satisfaction of basic psychological needs plays a partial mediating role in these negative effects of cyberbullying. These results highlight the significant impact of cyberbullying on university students' psychological well-being and emphasize the necessity of increasing awareness in this context.
