Helikopter Ebeveynlik ile Genel Öz-Yeterlik Arasındaki İlişkinin Sistematik Gözden Geçirilmesi ve Meta-Analizi

Öz

Helikopter ebeveynlik, son yıllarda giderek daha sık gözlemlenen ebeveynlik stillerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Bu ebeveynlik tarzının çocukların yetenek gelişimi ve psikolojik iyi oluşu üzerindeki etkileri dikkat çekmektedir. Özellikle helikopter ebeveyn davranışlarının çocukların öz-yeterlik gelişimi üzerindeki etkisi, üzerinde durulan önemli konulardan biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; helikopter ebeveynlik ile genel öz-yeterlik arasındaki ilişkinin sistematik olarak incelenmesi ve iki değişken arasındaki ilişkinin büyüklüğünün meta-analiz yöntemi aracılığıyla belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, WOS, Scopus, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, Ulakbim, Ulusal Tez Merkezi, ProQuest ve Google Akademik veri tabanlarında “helikopter ebeveynlik ve “öz-yeterlik” terimleri kullanılarak taramalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tarama sonucunda 343 çalışmaya ulaşılmıştır. Belirlenen ölçütlere uyan 13 çalışma meta-analize dahil edilmiş ve bu 13 farklı çalışmaya yönelik olarak 14 etki büyüklüğü değeri hesaplanmıştır. Meta-analize dahil edilen bu çalışmaların toplam örneklem büyüklüğünün 4473 katılımcıdan oluştuğu saptanmıştır. Meta-analiz sonucunda, helikopter ebeveynlik ile genel öz-yeterlik arasındaki ilişkiye ait ortalama etki büyüklüğü değerinin -0.150 olduğunu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bu değer helikopter ebeveynlik ile genel öz-yeterlik arasındaki bu negatif yönlü ilişkinin zayıf düzeyde olduğunu göstermektedir.
