Endüstriyel Tasarım Bölümü Öğrencilerinin Staj ve Mezuniyet Projelerinin Cinsiyet ve Coğrafi Dağılım Açısından Sektörel Analizi

Öz

Yüksek öğretimin en önemli parçalarından birisi staj dersidir. Staj; teorik bilgiyi pratiğe dönüştürmesi, öğrencilere deneyim kazandırması ve onları meslek hayatına hazırlaması açısından son derece önemlidir. Endüstriyel tasarım eğitimi, teorik bilginin yanında pratik bilgi ve uygulamanın hayati önem taşıdığı bir disiplindir. Bu amaçla; Karabük Üniversitesi Endüstriyel Tasarım Bölümü lisans öğrencilerinin son on yıllık staj dersleri ve mezuniyet projesinde tercih ettikleri sektör dağılımları incelenmiştir. Öğrencilerin yaşadıkları şehirler, tercih ettikleri sektörler ve bu sektörlerin bulundukları şehirlerin dağılımı, ayrıca mezuniyet projesi ve stajlar arasında somut bir ilişkinin olup olmadığını belirlemek hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmada nicel çalışma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama modeli uygulanmıştır. Araştırma evreni, son on yılda lisans eğitimine devam eden veya mezun olan 635 lisans öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Sonuç olarak; lisans öğrencilerinden beş büyük şehirde yaşayanların staj tercihi yaparken yaşadıkları şehirlerde bulunan firmalarda, en fazla mobilya, iç mekân dekorasyonu ve seramik sektörlerindeki firmalarda uygulamalarını gerçekleştirdikleri belirlenmiştir.

Sector Analysis of Industrial Design Students Internships and Graduation Projects in Terms of Gender and Geographic Distribution

Öz

One of the most important part of higher education is the internship course. Work placements are extremely important in terms of putting theoretical knowledge into practice, providing students with experience and preparing them for their professional careers. Industrial design education is a discipline in which practical knowledge and application are vital in addition to theoretical knowledge. For this purpose, sector distribution preferred by undergraduate students in the Industrial Design Department at Karabük University in their internship courses and graduation projects over the last ten years were conducted. The aim was to distribution the cities where the students lived, the sectors they preferred, and the cities where these sectors were located, as well as to determine whether there was a concrete relationship between the graduation project and internships. A descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was applied in the study. The research population consists of 635 undergraduate students who have been studying for their degree or have graduated over the past ten years. As a result, it has been found that, when choosing an internship, undergraduate students living in five major cities carried out their placements at companies based in their own cities, with the highest number of placements being in the furniture, interior design and ceramics sectors.
