The settlement culture has come to the fore with its unique features in Anatolia from the Neolithic Period until the day when humanity has settled. The house, which is a place where living needs are met within the scope of shelter, has been the subject of research of many scientists, especially from a morphological and traditional perspective. The sheltering culture, which has a history of thousands of years in Anatolia, is also an important cultural asset with the information it carries today.
For the purpose of heating and cooking in Anatolian Turkish houses, stove, barbecue and tandoor were widely used for this purpose until stove use. Tandirevi and tandoor culture, which has an important place in traditional Anatolian architecture, also have unique features in Erzurum houses. Although it has the same purpose in mind, the characteristics of the tandoor house in Erzurum rural architecture vary from place to place in the city center's tandoor houses.
Tandoor houses are an architectural and sociological narration that gives a primitive image at first glance, but is brought to us by a very rich cultural and historical structure. . For this purpose, Hacı Osman Ayık house in the Kümbettepe District of the Pazaryolu district of Erzurum, the location and usage of the tandoor in the context of the historical development and cultural characteristics of the Anatolian tandoor houses were also examined.
