Is the family a safe heaven for the individuals against all the crises and problems outside its walls? Or does the family build a wall on personality? If so, how can humans break down these walls to reach to virtue? For humans the highest level of well-being is to understand the perfection of their own nature or happiness. This is the most excellent thing, which is aimed in virtuous life. At this point, human beings are responsible for making their choices and regulating their lives to the extent that they can do. However, does the family contribute to each other for doing this? These kinds of questions are in the focus of Peter Shaf-fer's “Five Finger Exercise” play. How does playwright regard as the virtue? This article aims to explain these questions through reviewing this model dram.
